I wasn't sure where to post this, so Mods, help me out if necessary.

I'm looking for a 12V portable air compressor. It will be used only to air tires. All of my tools are Dewalt Battery driven.
I would like to goto 120PSI. My tires take 80# so that gives me a little buffer.
My TV is a Ford F250, 6.2L with standard battery and stock alternator.
I have a 110V compressor in the 5ver, but if I have a problem on the road, it offers no service. I also store two boat trailers where there is no available power. This compressor will not be used much, but I do want reliability, so the HF stuff just don't interest me. I've decided over the years that I can't afford to buy cheap stuff.

Look at the Viair compressors. They make a few that you can install on the truck. They are used for baby different things and are pretty bullet proof. Also, if you use the search function, you will find several threads on similar topics.

I use a cheapy 12 Volt, with cigarette lighter/12Volt plug, purchased at Wally World, a SLIME compressor. "Slime Heavy Duty Elite Digital Tire Inflator 12v - 40063". I like it simply because it is plug and play. You set the pressure and walk away, it will work until it reaches set pressure, then shut off. It has a thermal cutoff and it will pump my truck tires from aired down to 20 PSI for the beach to 65 PSI without any issues.

VIAIR. No brainer, or you'll go through the rest to arrive at the best! Support a fellow RVer and buy from TechnoRV. Eric has phenomenal service and regularly runs sales on these.

I just opened my Viair. I went with the 300P since I don't have a dually and don't need the extended reach. The only negative I see to it is the compressor not shutting off at a designated pressure. I'll have to slightly over fill then bleed it down to the desired pressure. It's not like I'm going to use it every day.
It looks like a pretty nice unit.

I 3rd that

I fourth it!
Fits under my F-450 seat and wired in to outfitter switch. Also fit behind the seat in my former 2013 F-350. 60’ of coiled Hose super easy to manage and easy to reach rear spare on 40’6” Solitude . Pumps up great, like it was meant for the job on my 110 psi tires. I love it, and Techno RV IS DEFINITELY who I would buy it from!

VIAR. The long extension works great to air up my Goosebox without me having to climb into the bed of the truck

I 2nd that @geotex I'd get the VIAIR and buy it from TechnoRV who just happen to be running a sale on the VIAIR. My father-in-law is on his 2nd other brand 12v air compressor. None of them are as good as the VIAIR IMHO. He will buy one soon ?
