Hey everyone, I purchased my camper back in February this year and have been living full time it since June. Just about to take it for my 1st big trip 2 hrs north to Charlottesville, VA where it’ll be staying for at least the next 2 years while I get some things in order. Looking to make sure I’ve got everything in order before embarking on the trip. My camper weighed roughly 4600 lbs empty. So now I imagine it’s closer to 5k lbs with my stuff in it. My 2013 Silverado has 200k m on her and I’m planning on getting a tune up here soon before the trip. It’s rated to pull 10k lbs, but she’s been running a little rough for a bit.

I’m thinking about going with the rigid foam insulation for skirting once I get there and wanna upgrade to 30lb tanks for LP. Things have been going fairly well so far, just looking forward to not having to mess with the black tank once I get up there as I’ll have a bathroom I’ll have access to!

What kind of cool ideas do yall have for interior organization? What do you use to hang things on the walls? How do you secure things while in transit? I’ve got some ideas, but I’d love to hear y’all’s!

There’s a really cool camper park nearby in Louisa that I can’t remember the name off the top of my head. Curious about meeting folks doing the camper life and how to make good 1st impressions if I roll into such a park?

Just a bunch of random thoughts and questions before I hit the sack. Thanks for reading!

Look at the Mods and DIY section for lots of great ideas - Mods and DIY

Against my advice my wife put up the 3M command strips all over our camper to hold many things, including coat hangers and shelves. I was not happy and insisted that 1) they would adhere to the wall covering but that covering itself would stretch and/or peel off and 2) we would then have to try to get all of them off causing more damage. As has happened many times in your 23 years of marriage she proved me wrong. The wall covering is not peeling off the wall and the strips come off just fine if you follow their instructions and take it slow.

First off, welcome to the forum. There are lots of knowledgeable folks here who can help answer your questions. For cold temperatures, you might look at heated water hoses. Also, roof vent covers will help keep your heat in. Reflectix is good on the windows if you don't mind not being able to see out.
