2020 Solitude Roof needed to be replaced, looking for warranty coverage

I will say this, GD has a 2 year structural warranty and 1 year for everything else. Not likely they will warranty it at 5 years old. Like NB said, interested in what GD has to say about it.

As far as the paperwork we have on our RV it said 15 years warranty, where are you getting your information from???? If you own a Reflection what do you know about the warranty on a Solitude. ???

For material defects. Check closely, but I could be wrong. If I am, then see what they say. GD may send you to the material manufacturer.

15 years is on membrane defects only....nothing to do with installation or sealants.

From what I've read here, Grand Design has refused roof warranty due to lack of maintenance, and periodic resealing. I'm thinking, from the looks of it, this roof would fall under that heading. Regardless that you've said the maintenance has been done, it DOESN"T look that way. I believe that is where the problem will arise.

GD roof warranties are pretty much the same across the board. Not much if any difference between a Solitude roof install and a Reflection. Glue is at a minimum on either one.

I understand your frustration but there is no need to get snippy with your reply. We take the be nice rule seriously.

I hope you get the resolve you're looking for, a crapshoot at best and could go either way.

Looks like it came loose while traveling at 62.7 miles an hour and was flapping like a flag for 2.3hts of travel.
Numbers maybe a little skewed, but definitely looking windy to me.

UPDATE:::::
We received payment from Grand Design. Grand Design covered all the products to replace the roof. Membrane, Glue, Plywood, New Vents and Sealant. Grand Design also send a payment to cover the installation of the new roof. We received a total of $6,623.00. We now have a brand new roof and are very pleased with Grand Design. Thank you Grand Design for making our RV perfect again. We did take care of our roof and our RV was always in a covered building during the off season in Minnesota. I would say our RV was out in the elements like rain and wind a total of 20 months of us owning the RV.

Glad to see Grand Design stepped up to the plate and made the repairs. I personally have seen around 10 different rigs going down the road with the front half of their roof bulging in the wind. It almost looks like a pillow under the roof, and I’m sure it doesn’t take long to tear. I have seen more 5th wheels than bumper pulls, I think the wind on the nose of the 5th wheels might have a bit of pulling effect. From what a RV repair place here in town told me is the main reason this happens is the assembly people, one don’t get enough glue on or they let the glue dry to much before the membrane gets put down. I know he has replaced quite a few roofs at his shop.

Good news! I'm glad you pursued this with Grand Design and I'm glad to hear that GD stepped up to help you out. They have a good reputation for customer service. Thanks for posting back.

That’s incredible. Not what I expected, but inline with my GD experience thus far.
