We purchased our camper back in June and both retired in July. The first mod I did was to replace the factory nylon bushings on the suspension with wet bolts (grease fittings) and the factory Yoke with the Dexter EZ Flex system which matched up exactly with the factory yoke.

The wife and I and our Boston Terrier Buster took an 18 day trip from our northwest Florida home to Zion, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Custer State Park from 9/2 to 9/20. One issue we ran into was dirty laundry and shoe storage. I've been reading on here about other Imagine owners who built drawers under the bed and I am looking into that now. Just wondering what other storage ideas anyone may have for two people and a small dog in a small camper.

We upsized to our 295RL in May. Within a couple of weeks we added some shoe storage under the stairs. The space beneath the stairs was completely empty which made this an easier project. We also added space by changing the cabinets next to the stove. Both had large areas of wasted space at the back which only had a couple of wires. Before and after photos collage attached. More work is under way.

We made a pantry cabinet for the space between the entry door and the recliners. It was anchored to the aluminum wall studs and was rock solid and had a ton of storage. GD should have made a pantry like this for 22 RBE as that is missing for sure. I will try to attach some pictures.

We bought 2 hanging shoe racks without individual shoe pockets on Amazon. We store shoes, flashlight, and other items.

Thanks RussMc! That is a great idea. Can you send me the outside dimensions of your add-on cabinet? Does it interfere with lubing the slide rubber seal?

I sold the camper this year so I don’t have the measurements, but I do know we made it so the top trim touched the door frame on one side and came within 1/4” of the slide’s outer frame on the other side. My brother made it for me so I will see if he still has his shop drawings and notes. You may be able to create something different with maybe slide out drawers, but we felt that particular space worked out perfect for that cabinet. Initially we were a bit worried about the cabinet cramping our living space, however it did not at all. My wife loved it as a pantry and also felt it added a margin of privacy to the living area as the entry door was opened. I hope that makes sense to you. :)

I forgot to mention that we put some command strip hooks on top of the cabinet so we could hook jackets and such on the hooks and with the hooks on top of the cabinet they did not get in the way at all.
Good luck!
