Hello Everyone,

I have a 2022 22MLE. I replaced the battery a while back with a 100ah LIFEPO4 battery. The convertor has a sticker that mentions "Auto Detect" on the battery type and it's LIFEPO4 compatible so not too concerned there.
The issue lies with the Furrion FSCC30PSW-BL 25A charge controller. The charge controller has a button to select the battery type. I choose Lithium and the green light lights above lithium and the Power light is green as well. Then the next day, when the sun comes up, the charge controller reverts back to "Sealed" with a yellow light above it. I have to manually go to the controller everyday to reselect Lithium.

I have called Furrion and they said to 'reset' the charge controller. I did this by turning off the battery, removing the battery, removing the charge controller from it's mount (disconnected). Waited an hour or so and reconnect the controller and reinstalled and turned on the battery. Then selected Lithium again and all is good...until the next morning when it reverts back to Sealed.

Anyone else have this issue? I have replied to Furrion about the issue but no response as of yet.

Thanks!
Steven Keller

Hi Steven, welcome to the forum. You're not the first to have this issue, check the forums for several threads from others.

A year ago we took our first kong trip up to the northeast......Maine, Montreal, Quebec, N.H., etc.
Out for about 3 weeks. We had a lead acid battery, the one that came with it, our 2023 22MLE.
The battery was not staying charged, so when we got home I bought and replaced with a lithium battery.
We have just came back from another 3 week trip and drove the last leg with a dead battery.
I called GD customer service and they authorized a tech to come and check things out. The tech said that the charge controller and possibly the solar charge controller are faulty. One or the other or both should be charging the battery and it's not being charged when plugged into the truck. Now that we're home and plugged into shore power the battery is being charged up again and is back up to 99%. Tech appointment
is set up for Oct. 24.....so we'll see what happens. I'm suppose to send GD the tech's findings and test results.

I saw a similar issues somewhere else on the Furrion charger controller reverting back to AGM after setting to Lithium. I also saw that you can reset your controller by pressing and holding the button until all the lights light up. Have you tried that? I'm curious to know if that solves your issue.

Thanks @jas451, let us know how things turn out.
Update...on the tech's visit yesterday. Checking out the MPPT solar charger and being on the phone with Lippert tech it was determined that the solar charger is defective and Lippert is sending me a replacement. The tech (Heartland RV) will then return to install it. This is all on warranty.
That takes care of the solar part, so then we moved to the truck and why it was not charging.
Paul checked out the 7-pin port and was not getting any power. We checked the fuses on the truck
(2009 F-250) and they checked out ok. He said that the truck wouldn't recognize the Lithium battery because it is not getting any resistance from a Lithium battery as opposed to an Acid Core.
I will have to add a "DC to DC charge controller" once I take the truck into the dealer and find out
why I'm not getting any power off the charging pin. There is power on the lights and turn signal pins, so I assumed that everything was working, but there must be a break somewhere in the wiring harness. I'll let the dealer figure that out. In the meantime I'll look into ordering a "DC to DC charge
controller" and have it ready when Paul returns.

More information.....I got a call from the tech yesterday. He had also contacted the mfg. of the breaker box, which he had done previously, but had not heard back. There is an adjustment screw for regulating the voltage, but apparently the breaker box will NOT accommodate a Lithium battery.
They said to remove the breaker box and send it back to them and they will repair it do an upgrade for a Lithium battery, and then they will return it and re-install. They said that it will have jumper cable and that if I ever want to go back to Acid Core I would pull the jumper off. So basically there are two things going on, the solar charger is faulty and it's not compatible with the breaker box anyway. This has all come to light because I wanted to go with a Lithium battery figuring that it would be an upgrade, which it will be, once everything is compatible. I'm pretty sure the tech, Paul, knows his stuff. He said that he installed a 1,000 watt solar system in a class A and it was $18,000 just in parts!!!
