If you are not handy or confident do not attempt. Just sharing what I did.

Working through all the things in the new trailer that don't work well. the air conditioner was high on the list. found the unit would short cycle and struggle to cool the trailer. a little research I found some suggestions.

I purchased a 10k thermister from Blackhawk supply.

I think it looks very good.

The meat of the mod is opening up the ac from inside the trailer and removing the black control box to make it easier to work with. there is a short black wire pair with a black plastic dipped sensor on it. I removed DC and AC power from the trailer and cut this sensor off leaving as much wire as possible from the control box. I located the brown wire that runs from the control box to the temp display control panel located on the wall by the bathroom. the brown wire is multi conductor and had three unused wires. I stripped the brown cover back further to be able to work with the unused wires. I used the heat shrink solder connectors...,I added a 6.inchnpiece if black and red wire to make it more serviceable.

on the display control side you twist it to the left to remove from wall and connect the thermister to the same wires you used on the ac side. there is no polarity. works like a champ

I have been told if you install the sensor relocation kit it voids Furrion's warranty. Anyone know? Whoever designed the in ceiling sensor should be fired.

I have no doubt it does.......but the warrantys are pretty worthless. on my experience.

Imo the AC was going to burn itself up the way it was short cycling

the modification ended the short cycling.

Way back when we bought our 2022 (built in 2019) 3100RD, which had the cursed sensor in the intake plenum, I called both GD’s and Lippert’s customer service. Long story short, Lippert stuck to their “we designed it that way” and stated flatly the it would void the warranty if I made ANY modification. GD on the other hand was sympathetic, sent me two kits to move the sensor, and assured me they would stand behind the warranty. This was before Lippert finally changed their thermostat, which in my opinion only addressed half the problem. Anyway, I installed both wiring kits that relocated the sensors to near the original thermostats and both ACs perform perfectly. In fact, I now prefer the Furrion ACs to any we’ve had in our Dutchmen, Jayco, Coleman trailers.

I agree. Once I sorted out all of the 'issues' with my Furrion, I can honestly say that is the best A/C that I have ever had in all of my RVs. It is quiet and very efficient.

just back from a week out in the trailer, This fixed the short cycling and made the temperature more even through out the trailer. Gone was the short cycling and hot/cold cycles. temp was perfect.

This is definitely the best mod ever! No more AC short cycling, I can even use Auto on both AC units and it maintains 73° perfectly! Thank you so much for the write-up! I used the original sensors for now just to see if it worked, I'm anxious to get those nice flush mount sensors you used!

On my Coleman-Mach units, the thermostat is programmable to select either the internal sensor(thermostat) or a remote sensor for the room temp.

I am surprised the Furrion does not have this either/or capability.

The messed up part is that the Furrion thermostat Does have a built in sensor, but it's only used for the Heat.

It looks good. What manufacturer are the solder connectors?

What brand connectors did you use?
Is there a large temp swing between the a/c coming on and turning off?

Thank you for sharing. I recently installed the Kool RV which closed off the dump and directed the air through dedicated vents from the AC. I relocated (for now) the sensor through the filter (just the tip) to see how this works.

I would like to go through your route....but in my unit, I will have to go from the kitchen/living room to the bathroom (mid trailer) where the AC controller is stationed. I am going to tag your post here just in case I get the desire to play Marco Polo and try to fish my line. Lol
