I'm going to be picking up my new 2024 23LDE tomorrow and was going to install the rear camera and side cameras at the dealership before the drive home. I know that the rear camera is very easy as the camera will plug in and just work (I have the Furrion Vision S system). But my question is on the side marker camera it appears that they do not come pre-wired for the cameras on these models, what should I be looking at for doing this in the parking lot or should I just do the rear camera and work on the side cameras when I get home?

Thanks,
Jay

You are going to have to physically remove the side marker lights and replace with the Furrion bases.

Probably not something you want to do on the lot.

You can do it.....it will be a bit of work....hopefully the dealer will allow you a couple of hours on the lot to complete this task. I say a couple of hours, but it took me about an hour for the 3 camera installation in my driveway. You never know what you will encounter during the install that may take some more time.

I installed the Haloview rear and side marker cameras. The side markers will require you to remove the current maker light entirely and replace it with the new camera/marker light item. Remember to bring some Pro seal to apply around the new marker lights for water protection (you are at the dealer, so you can pick up a tube).

Checking and adjusting the camera will be your next time consuming part until you get your angles right for your needs. Finally....if yours ends up like mine....remember to turn on your vehicle lights to get the cameras working.....OR if your vehicle is not connected to the trailer....you can use a 15a blade fuse on the 7 pin connector to activate the markers with power (if you have a trailer battery installed).

You will love the cameras....we really like having them especially on the freeways. Enjoy!

I decided to wait until I got home to install the side cameras. I also might wait until it cools off a bit as well. Heat Index over 103 isn't very fun to work in.

I installed Furrion side cameras on our XLS 23 LDE with help from my son-in-law. We removed the panels inside the storage compartment that covers the wires. Then we removed the side marker lights. Next we decided it was necessary to drill a new hole in the side wall to allow clearance for the storage compartment door to open with the camera mounted. Eek! Anyway he filled the old hole with a plug and sealant which is covered by the camera base (you can't see any holes). My only complaint about the cameras both side and rear is they only work when the marker lights are on. Good luck with your install, having a camera for blind side backing is the only way to go!

You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the install you'd like to share would you?

Unfortunately I do not have any pics. The problem we found is mounting the camera in the original hole moves the camera which extends past the base was too close to the cargo door. I can take pictures of what they look like now if you would like.

Yes please, any pictures you can send would make it easier for me. Drilling a new hole is not something I'm looking forward to.

Here you go I hope this helps. Good luck!

I feel you....I am remodeling a pantry at the moment. Going in and out with this humidity is a killer. It isn't a bit job really.....just take your time and read the instructions and make sure to use sealant. Good luck!

OK, the weather has finally decided to cooperate with me and I should be tackling this project along with installing some Mopeka propane sensors this weekend. I'll try and get some pictures to post for future people :)
