Hi Everyone - proud owner of a new 2025 2800BH w/ dual AC units (the main reason we traded in!). Took it out this week for a short trip to get accumulated and stumbled across the disastrous dual AC unit issues w/ Furrion. There is a myriad of complaints with this scenario - beginning with 1) the dealer has to know this is an issue by now and maybe should mention to me when purchasing, 2) why do they continue to design it this way?, and 3) is where I could use some help/guidance - what is the best way to resolve this issue?

I've reached out to my dealer and Grand Design to start with. While I was camping this weekend - I pulled the sensor down through the units but for my model - that does not work that well really from what I can tell because it just causes short cycling. I live/camp in the south so most of our trips are in the heat of the summer and would like to find the best solution going forward. I've read a lot on the forums but hoping someone who has been around this issue for awhile can pinpoint my best path forward.

Thank you in advance!

I got my unit two weeks ago, with the same frustrations. It sounds like you've read the many comments on the issue with no clear fix, I'm not optimistic a fix is imminent. Sorry.

How are you going about resolving? Doing something on your own? Or trying to contact dealer/GD/Furrion?

Running the fans on low (not auto) helps but it is no fix. Grand Design customer service is aware of the problem but they have no fix. I might call furrion.

After market thermostat or relocate the a/c room sensor from the plenum.

Thanks Rich - any thoughts on which is “easier”? Or warranty considerations? If I could plug N play thermostats without changing any wiring - that would be nice.

I installed a MicroAir thermostat. It’s plug and play, just have to drill new mounting holes.
I believe it does void the a/c warranty though.
Relocating the sensor is relatively easy if you have the extra wires in the thermostat wiring harness, and you’re comfortable working with small wires.
The MicroAir has a wider temperature range than the Furrion.

Thanks for the response, I truly hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Sir, you may have issues with the A/C systems, AND may assume that everyone else knows what you are talking about, but your original post did not describe even ONE of the issues. So there is no good reason to "assume" that anyone knows what the problems are and again....you did NOT describe any of them. If you are going to ask for help or advice, make it perfectly clear WHAT the issue(s) are and then hopefully someone or several may be able to assist or help you.

No idea what known issues you are referring to.

If you look at the top of the thread - there is a Forum trail - for which this thread exists within "Heating and Air Conditioning Systems". The first page there lists at least 5 threads on this topic. Maybe a false assumption on my part - as given the volume of previous discussion, I wrongfully assumed this was a common topic within the "Heating and Air Conditioning Systems" Forum. My apologies. I wrongfully thought it would be better to cut to the chase, acknowledging I've read those threads and understand the issues with the temperature sensor location within the Furrion AC units when running dual units. If someone was going to respond - they likely would have read, are aware, or facing similar issues with their RV. Again, clearly a wrong assumption and I apologize. It seems others may have understood my question based on their replies. I will be more clear in my future posts. Many apologies and I hope you have a great day with hopefully a wonderful trip upcoming on the holiday weekend.

Whenever anyone, myself included, is going to ask for advice/help/insight for a problem or an issue that they are having, it's always a best practice to fully describe (as best you can), what the actual problem or issue is. I've personally tried to help someone with an issue or problem they were having and they left too many "factors" out, or they failed to mention something that might important to the person trying to offer help. You have to remember, on a forum, it's not like the person or people that you are asking are physically there to see and hear what is going on, so a full description loaded with detail is always better than being vague or making assumptions.

One other thing to consider, you mentioned the "string" of threads related to that issue. Many of us either click on "New Posts" to see what is out there, or look in a section that might contain topics that we can relate to and ignore others. An example might be.....I have a Momentum Toy Hauler and have Airxcel A/C units in it. So I'm probably not going to go through the "Imagine" section and I may or may not have any interest in Furrion A/C units with issues or problems because I don't have one. So please don't assume that people would see the chain of threads in regard to that A/C unit. I found it because I clicked on New Posts and was scrolling through them. It's all good though, we all do things differently sometimes.

Hopefully you can get to help that you are needing with the issue. There is almost nothing more frustrating than having spent serious money on something brand new, and then it not work as it is suppose to. Good luck.

He mentioned Furrion at the beginning of the post.
I knew exactly what he was talking about?
Hopefully my suggestions help.

I have the Coleman AC units, and I even knew what he was talking about lol

Did you check this thread? I've got the same problem, this is what will fix it. Look for this discussion.

Yes, I saw that before my initial post. I'm just not willing to cut into the wiring of a brand new unit. Not much room for error on the short wires and a real good chance of voiding your warranty. Furrion should come up with a proper retrofit.

Yes, definitely. I talked to Furruon on the phone, they offer only a work around, run both on Fan Low, or Fan High, not Auto. Not what I wanted to hear..
