2025 Compass Connect App update

With the new version of Compass Connect iOS app, I am now required to agree to a several dozen page term of agreement, and create an account with Lippert. I really enjoyed using this app on our 22 MLE, but I don’t think Lippert needs to know every time I open or close my awning.
I am well aware that creating and supporting an app requires cost by them. I am also aware there are other models to recoup some of that cost, like paying for the app when you buy it. It’s also possible that providing the service will change the mind of a potential buyer and keep them from going to another brand, one that does not have the Compass Connect.
Now whatever goodwill I had towards Lippert for providing such a useful service, is gone. My command panel is just inside the door, so it only takes a moment longer to do what I would’ve done from my phone anyway. Thanks for listening to me vent, I hope all of your camping weekends are going well!.

Thanks,
Bill

Yes, I feel your pain, Bill. It's too bad when companies break something that was working only for their gain. Whatever happened to the "customer always comes first?"

I use the "One Control" app on my phone and it's an older version of the app. And the reason that it's an older version is because I keep my phone settings for apps set to where I have to manually update them. One Control and Compass Connect are notorious for app "updates" that are buggy and refuse to work correctly, and it's usually several months before they get them squared away. The result is a lot of pain and suffering that I don't need. If it works, leave it alone. I don't need new colors or new graphics, or new locations of operating points, thank you very much. I'll just keep using the older version that I'm already familiar with.

Wish I could roll mine back.
