Hi. I noticed the 2025 line of Imagine XLS trailers have increased dry hitch weights.

Prior to 2025, the 17MKE dry hitch weight was advertised as 480 lbs. The 2025 model has increased to 517 lbs (8% increase).

Prior to 2025 the 22MLE dry hitch weight was advertised as 490 lbs. The 2025 model has increased to 608 lbs (24% increase). I’m pretty sure the other models have also increased for 2025.

Can anyone explain why the dry hitch weight increased for the Imagine XLS line-up of trailers? Were the prior dry hitch weights underestimated? Or was there a design change that increased the hitch weights?

Thanks. I’m curious where the extra weight came from.

Is the unloaded weight of the trailer up as well? Likely is
They probably have never updated it over the years with the different options they have added. Who knows
Imo manufacturers should not post a tongue weight anyway. It is a useless number that will only get people in trouble le thinking they are within specs when they are extremely overweight

They have recently done a large batch sampling of the entire line and updated the weights. Hitch was always low, and is now more in line. Still doesn't include battery weight or full LP tanks....just an average of hitch weight as they left the factory.

I honestly thought that the weights on the tag were actual weights as the trailer left the factory. I thought only the weights in brochures/websites for a model were estimated, but like truck payload, the tag is based on actual weights. Doesn't matter much since I weigh my RVs, but that's a surprise.

They are actual weights but I will add not very accurate
I compared vin tags with another owner of a 2021 2400bh and his trailer was 300 lbs heavier on the vin
We figured they must have left water in the holding tanks when they went over the scales

I'm not talking the actual weight of individual vehicles, they are all weighed and VIN tags printed. As the OP indicated, I was referring to the advertised weights on websites and in brochures.

Okay, now I understand. Thanks.
