Greetings to all! I am now having my 3rd problem on my XLS22MLE slide.
1st was day of delivery. At home, Crunching on slide in. Helped push it in, back to dealer who found a black piece of plastic on front end of slide blocking rollers on the inside. Removed it and said it was ok. Stop if you hear sound and push/pull if needed.
2nd was a year later, the aluminum guide gear was broken near the base and needed replaced. Grand design covered it and replaced it but it took MONTHS.
Yesterday the slide was fine...No sounds in or out, it worked perfectly. After towing calmly on Interstate for 5 hours the slide will not move out. To be fair the slide at the back moved fine up to 4 inches, and was ok. The front and middle were binding at 1 inch and causing the front of the slide to become out of sync with the back. Move back in and carefully tried again. Same result. No crunching! Closer inspection reveals that the slide (Slide IN position) showed that the slide in back is ~ 1/4" above the floor and moves fine. The slide in the middle FWD of fridge and FWD of theater seats, the slide base sits on the floor. It never did that before. I can only assume that the roller or support under the slide failed. The motor and drive gearing seem fine. I did the sync reset. No help!
What say you that know more than me? My wife says the slide is a POS and I must agree but it seems if fixed right/upgraded we can finally love the trailer like we should.
