Lots of issues with schwintek slides and lots of posts on this forum. Just wanted to share my experience to help others.
We have a 23 LDE. Slide has been working fine the first couple of years. No its not in the date section of the recall. Gets a little crooked but still went in and out. Didn't know about holding the button till the motors amped out, but would hold it long enough the close seals.
End of last year we tried to put it out and the front side would move about three inches and motor would drop out. Tried repeatedly and finally shoved REALLY hard on that side while extending and got it out. By the way I was able to do this by myself by using the "one control" on my phone while pushing. Worried about getting it back in but it worked so we got home.
Got it home in the shop, tried to extend and same thing. front motor dropped out after about three inches of travel. Did some research, pulled the cover to the controller and tried again. No fault codes when motor drops out. Most "sync" procedures talk about doing it from the "in" position. Won't work when motor is dropping out. Forced the slide out by pushing again. Started from the fully extended position, ran it in 4 inches, ran it out till it stopped and the motors "amped out" as my RV buddy says. Did this four times. Brought slide in, did the same procedure starting from the slide closed position. Motor didn't drop out this time and was able to accomplish this. I go out every couple of days and put the slide in and out a couple of times to verify it works. Done that for about 5 days and now have a comfort level it will work. After talking to my RV mech buddy, he verified my beliefs. Take aways that I have;
Like others said, hold the button for the slide till it stops and then a couple seconds more.
Motors were out of sync.
One motor is getting weak, that's why they were out of sync'
It doesn't set a fault code , because the controller is seeing the motor amps increase and thinks it is all the way open and drops the motor out. This is caused by the motor drawing more amps because its getting weak. All the while getting out of sync by me pushing buttons.
I will replace the weak motor.
This has been explained before many time, but not in words I understood. This is just my shot at my explanation for others to hopefully understand. Any questions, feal free to ask or add your own clarification.
