Been working on the specs and parts for a upgraded Battery Bank/Solar system for our 376THS Momentum, we have the OEM system now with the 300W Panel, Jaboni 30a MPPT, Magnum 2000W Inverter, and 2 BB 100ah 12v batteries. Moving to a 24v system in addition to the 12v bank (a Shout Out to David - SolarPowered RV for his great posts that have helped a LOT with deciding on a 24v system) with an additional 1600w of solar, 400-800ah battery bank at 24v and a VE MultiPlus-II 2x120v 24/3000/70-50 Inverter/Charger, etc.

One of the main parts I have been still reviewing is what batteries to use for the 24V bank. I want to use a 24V 200AH (or +) form factor, going to start with 2 and add another 1 or 2 if needed. So far have narrowed it down to LiTime (formerly AmpreTime) Redodo, and Renogy. The LiTime and Redodo 24v 200ah batteries are down to $1,239.00/ea but do not have low temp or self heating (not a deal breaker as I plan to put the bank in the heated hold behind the front bay back wall/stairs). The Renogy 24v 200ah (appears they just released this model) DOES have low temp protection and self heating, but is $1,599.00. All have had decent to good reviews on their 100ah models, but have only found tear down videos on the LiTime and Redodo in the 24v 200ah models.

Question is - does anyone have any experience with any of these form factors from these manufactures?

Thanks in advance.

I just finished an install w/3 of the LiTime 230AH (12V) batteries. Has low temp protection, does not have heating (which is what I wanted for my application).

800AH at 24V?? Holy smokes that's a lot of battery power!

Not to give you more to research, but you may want to think about an EG4 24v 200ah server rack batt. Evidently, their BMS will communicate with the Victron Cerbo GX (as does SOK batts). Will Prowse has given them good reviews in the past. Easy to expand. From Current Connected they are the same price as the Renogy you mentioned.

I will check those out, thanks for the lead.

Steve and Kelly, I'm looking at the same question right now. David has been a great help to me, too. I'm debating between the LiTime and Redodo batteries only. Both have been extensively reviewed and well praised. As of this instant, I'm leaning toward the Redodo, simply because they are somewhat cheaper than the LiTime. That may be different tomorrow. Black Friday sales on still on....

Last I looked the Redodo and LiTime 24v 200ah batteries were the same price. I also noted in the battery tear down videos that the LiTime appears to be of much better quality on the interior assembly. Just my 2 cents…

Three years on the 12v 200 amp Redodo (x3, then they were called zoom) and no issues so far. I do wish they had they had low temp cutoff but I can work around that. I think at this point you can't go wrong either way.

The EG4 cannot supply high amps to start Air conditioners and the like. Sotasolar on you tube has pulled one out and replaced it.

Becareful of recommendations

I'm almost ready to order my batteries. I'll get two batteries. I made a chart to compare the LiTime and Redodo batteries, both 12 and 24 volt versions. I picked the largest one for each of the four choices. The LiTime batteries come out exactly the same, no matter what because the 12 volt one is 460 AH and the 24 volt one is 230 AH, so the capacity is the same. The cost is also the same. The Redodo batteries are a different story. The 12 volt battery is 410 AH, while the 24 volt one is 200 AH. There is a difference in price, with the 24 volt battery about $200 cheaper than the 12 volt version.

The 24 volt Redodo has the lowest price, both in actual price and cost/watt hour. The inverter is a 3000W, so I divided the watt hours by 3000 to see how long the battery pack will last (in theory, anyway). The 24 volt Redodo has the lowest number, 3.2 hours. The LiTimes last the longest, 3.68 hours.

Any preference among these four choices?

Just ordered a pair of Redodo 24 volt batteries. They came in at about $1000 less than the LiTime batteries. I have a feeling that that $1000 will soon disappear.<grin>

Sounds like you found a great deal. Let us know how they work out. And good luck with the install.

I ordered all of my major 24v side components today from RV Solar Connections, they have a 10% off sale on everything on their site (they are a official Victron Dealer/Installer), saved several hundred $s over the best prices I’ve found. Now the work really begins! Batteries will be next, followed by the solar components and installation.

We are 1 year into 3X200 ah LiTime 12 V
Have 4X 220 watt Newapower 10m panels
Victron Multiplus 3000

Last year I was in your position , deciding 12vs 24 volt and which lithium. I went with LiTim because of construction. Add 3 heating pads that run off the batteries if I should need it.

Ben very very happy with the batteried

We've been operating with our system since February. We started out by just pulling the shore power off while at The Ranch, just for a few hours at a time and worked our way up to going 24 hours. No problems. Shortly before we headed out in May there was a power outage at The Ranch, and the neighbors were all talking about it. We asked, "What power outage?" It was still cool enough that we didn't have the a/c on, and the MultiPlus II did exactly as it was supposed to. We never saw any sign of a blip. Since then we've boondocked a couple of night at a time with absolutely no worries.
