I was hoping a fellow 2970RL owner may be able to help me out here.

I have a 2022 2970RL we upgraded from a 2600RB. I had a bumper fabricated to hold a generator and a bicycle rack. However, when we took the underpinning off to weld the bumper to the chassis, there was no insulation between the underpinning and the floor.

Is this standard? It seems to me there is a considerable void (bumper to axle) with no insulation.

The 2600RB was foam insulated but also had a black tank in that location, so the model makes little difference. After a suspension modification, I plan to fill the void but just wondered if it was an oversight in manufacturing.

If someone has a good reason I should not insulate it, please feel free to share.

There is no insulation on top of the Coroplast underbelly in the Imagine line - but the floor itself is insulated (R-30). You can see construction details here:

If you do put something in that space, make sure to use vapor barrier(s) and have them on the right side of the insulation.

Thanks!
Not sure why I didn't look there. I suspect there is a better chance of me creating an issue- no need for overkill. If you are ever in the Chattanooga area dinner is on me.
