Just found another thread where some people liked the Hankook Vantra Trailer ST01. Anyone have at least 20,000 miles on these?
I have recently experienced 2 Goodyear Endurance tire failures. They had about two years and 25,000 miles on them. Tread looked good but they came apart. Bought two more Goodyear Endurance with the trailer on jacks in an empty parking lot on a Sunday about 2 hours from home. So I guess need to replace two more same age and mileage tires, also need to replace the original Westlake spare, but with what? Is anyone running the Carlisle CSL 16 with the F rating? Or maybe the Carlisle Radial Trail HD with an E rating?
Hopefully they will be better than the older Carlisle tires, which I believe they are. I had some on our Fuzion in 2011 and they exploded after less than 2 years, and 5,000 miles.I lost 2 of my 5 -year old Goodyear Endurance tires on my 315 RLTS on a recent trip. I had checked the pressure before leaving on our trip and all were set to 80 PSI. I went to Discount Tire with the intention to replace with another set of Goodyear's. The sales rep recommended going to the Carlisle CSL 16 - a load range F tire with all-steel construction. I had the Carlisle tires put on at the same cost as the Goodyear. I have only had them on a short time, but so far, so good. Carlisle is an old maker of trailer tires, so they have some experience in their field. Time will tell.
I had 2 Goodyear Endurance tires fail on a recent trip.Tire pressure was checked before we left and once during the trip. Turns out these tires were between 5 and 6 years old. They were the E-rated 15" tires on our 315 RLTS. My local Discount Tire store recommended the Carlisle CSL 16 with the F rating, considering the weight of our trailer. We run these @ 90 PSI and so far, so good. I like the looks of the tread design and these are all-steel construction like semi-truck tires. sidewall "bulges" are where the ply splices meetThose 6 failed tires you note in the past 27 months with an average of 9.5K miles line up with our experience. None of our failed tires had sidewall bulges. The problem was tread separation with each of our failures. And we too are fortunate that we pay attention to our tires. Because of that we had no blow-outs and no trailer damage.
From what I understand, "bulges" are bad, and "indentations" are okay.sidewall "bulges" are where the ply splices meet
