3 season patio

So i took the bait and ordered the 3 season patio door and 2 recliners through my "dealer" (lets see if they can at least get this right). Man GD is proud of their recliners!! cost twice as much as my Weekend Warrior captains chairs! cha ching... Anyway, i'm a pretty technically and mechanically inclined guy and will be installing them myself. I was wondering if anyone else has ordered and installed this option? Right now i have the screen wall and when the screen is down and after a few beers my buddies tend not to see the screen in the "down" position when heading to the patio! .... thanks Split

We have both, but they were factory installed. We were told that is the only way they were sold- but sounds like that may not have been correct. With the pull down shade, is there a "window" that extends about 20" down from the ceiling in the ramp opening? If so, I can not see why it would be a problem to self install. On the chairs, they are OK and actually look nice, but one of ours was missing a screw in the arm and they are not as roomy as the better 0 gravity chairs. If you like to have a kid or pup in your lap, you might be cozy.

So Spilts, you have ordered this 3 seasons door? Where did you order from? If you mind me asking, what was the selling price? Part Number? I ask only because I want to buy this as well for my 350M

the pull down screen is really just a giant screen and since i did not get rear patio steps with my unit i need to go in and out of the garage door to get to the patio. GD350 i am not sure what the part numbers are. I had to call my dealer who had to contact GD. there were 2 numbers though, one was for the patio doors/frame itself and the other was for the plastic insert panels that velcro to the screen frames. Price really depends on what your dealer wants to msrp you for. I whined enough to get a discount since my rig didnt come with it..like i say above, we'll see if my dealer even ordered it, they took my money last week and were supposed to get back to me with details, shipping, etc and i have heard nothing at all!

I have the rear steps for the door, they are nice, but large. I would love to have the 3 season door before we go camping at the beach to let that summer air in while camping. I just believe I will accidentally walk into/through the screen door when it gets dark and I forgot I had it down.

Here is the steps on the ramp door.

im not too sure about glamis. the few times i have even used my patio there the wind ( or someone riding by) just kicked up dust into my rig. Probably be ok on a windless night but then you wanna hang by the bonfire. Now if we are talking the Lake, or cinders, i am all about the patio view and chilling with a beer!

Definitely splits. My cousin took his 5er to the Kern River and was able to back right up to the river. Too bad for him, he doesn't have the patio option. The above setup would be great for that!

yeah gd350 those are nice to have esp if you have the pull down screen. I hope they are adjustable for height? I almost ordered them but my friend who owns a fabrication company said he would build me a pair. Did you get the leatherette recliners with your rig? look like they come with the 388?

Yes the bottom legs are adjustable. I had to install the brackets myself as it came after I purchased the unit. I didn't get the leather chairs, I got the two Momentum Zero Gravity Chairs. I like that they fold up and out the way while traveling.

We ordered our new 388M with the steps and 3 season door (should arrive the end of April). The chairs are an option that must be paid for...500 and some bucks! My wife had to have one.

So I have been trying to do some deeper digging on these 3 season patio doors. I know they are made by Lippert, I also know that these doors are listed on GD website under the Momentum feature tab and down at the bottom on the M-Class it's listed with the Garage Options. It is also listed on the MSRP at a cost of $1,163. What I don't know "YET" is what is the part number that Grand Design uses for these and can we install them ourselves.

I found on two different brands websites there part numbers, Dutchman has two (193608 & 193609) they say one is for the clear vinyl and the other is for the dark vinyl, but never said which was which. Also, Heartland had one (0130058) but he said the only way to get the installation instruction from Lippert was that Heartland had to request them and then Heartland emailed him those instructions.

So, I am willing to purchase these, but it seems like Lippert doesn't want to easily sell these as an aftermarket part (Which is weird, because I think they would sell a few this way).

IF anybody else has some more information (or the install instructions) would they be willing to share?

3 Season door never gets removed, it folds off to the side while loading things in the garage. My intent to use it would be for beach type get aways, when it nice weather outside, etc.

Now if it's snowing outside, thundering and lightning, then I wouldn't even have the garage door down in the first place.

As far as a vinyl insert, I don't think it would snap on to the screen as it rolls up, but if they refit it in place of the screen it may work. But I prefer the door aspect then pulling up and down on the screen. It's worth a look into, but probably to expensive to do it. I found a website that is selling it for the keystone line, but since my unit is in for warranty work, can't take measurements in the back of the 350M to see if this would be the one I am looking for.

I had researched this for one of my customers last year.

Lippert does not sell it as an aftermarket kit.

They told me that they only sell them to manufacturers, and the manufacturers have to install them.

They wouldn't even sell to us, as a dealer for installation.

Any idea if the steps are sold separately?

Steps are a new option from Grand Design.

I'm sure you could just order them, as they don't really permanently attach to anything.
