I was going to flush the anti-freeze from our camper and reviewd both the owner's manual and the stickers inside the camper. They both show 3 valves at the water heater: cold water inlet valve, hot water outlet and a bypass valve. Additionally, at the water pump, they showed the anti-freeze suction valve and this valve is where it says it should be. The problem is there is no 3rd valve (bypass) on the water heater that I can find. The 2 valves appear to be diverter valves, as they must just divert to the water heater or the bypass line vs. opening or closing as a normal valve would.
Also, the water heater valves are under the drawer in the bedroom and to remove the drawer you can't just release the slide, you have to compress the cabinet part of the slide back into the cabinet because the bed is in the way of just pulling the drawer straight out! I'd love to move or add additional valves so they are easier to access, but the valves seem designed so that they have to be mounted directly to the water heater. I'm not sure it is a common thread size that would allow me to find hardware to relocate them. So now I'm thinking I would need to come up with a removable panel below the drawers.
So, a couple things:
1) Can someone confirm that I just have to use the 2 valves at the water heater and ensure the anti-freeze suction valve is closed?
2) Can GD publish an appropriate diagram for our camper and include the access location info?
I used to write technical manuals, and I must say that those diagrams in both the manual and in the camper are grossly inadequate for our camper.
