Is the frame on a 310GK the same on a 15,000 GVWR rated rig as that of an 18,000 GVWR rig?

If not, where does the additional 2,500 lbs or rating come from?

And to make things more complicated......
If the dual 7,000 lbs axels can support 14,000 lbs and the pin weight (estimated at 22.5%) can be 3,150 lbs, why isn't the actual GVWR more like 17,000 lbs on a 15,000 GVWR 310GK?

My guess would be the frame is the same, but axles and tires are different. Possibly 8,000 lb. rated axles, and 17.5" wheels/tires.

It's my understanding the 2019 Momentum 351M, GVWR of 16,800 lbs., could have been ordered with 8,000 lb. rated axles and the GVWR would have risen to 18,000 lbs.

I believe that the frame is the same. My 2022 378MBS could be ordered with 8,000 lb axles which brough up the GVWR to 18,000 from the 16,800 that it is right now with the 7,000 lb axles. I also recall someone discussing this on the forum previously and the answer from GD was that the frames were the same because they wanted to upgrade the axles and were told that it wouldn't be an issue but GD would not change the sticker on the side for increased GVWR.

When ordered (Aug 2021), to get 18,000 GVWR I wanted (for planned upgrades and options), had to order the 8K axle option - and even then GD was internally debating whether they would or would not put 18,000lbs on the placard. They did it for some orders and not for others and the request had to specifically be noted on the order sheet from the dealer. Talking with LCI. I didn't get the impression that there was any difference in frame but I think all the Solitudes were coming in with Coopers at that point. LCI told me that the 1621 chassis 'well' exceeded the end manufacturer's specs in terms of total weight and pin weight. One of the reasons for the request was as we were looking at individual 310s, the UVW from the factory without batteries or propane had crept up between 2019 and 2021 - we were seeing some later deliveries over 13,000lbs UVW. Add 750lbs of water and barely over 1,000lbs CCC left at the 15K rating.

Frames are probably the same, suspension/tire upgrades. 15,000 GVWR me thinks, is that in some states weights over 15K require a non-commercial class A drivers license & GD avoids that.
