313 RLTS Awning

Has anyone thought about adding a second awning to the slide out like the new 2017 315RLTS ? or do you have info on how to do this ??

Hi there Game Warden!
When I was shopping for the best price on a 315RLTS I found an early 2017 that came with the single awning. I asked if the second awning could be added. The sales rep checked with Grand Design and got me on the phone with the factory in a three way call. The answer was that there is no bracing in the wall of the slide to attach the awning to and that Grand Design wouldn't recommend the installation. I opted for a later production unit with the factory installed awning.

Has anyone here added a second awning to the slide? I'm looking into this as well. I have a 2016 313RLTS.

Check with Grand Design. There probably isn't any reinforcement in the wall. Nothing to screw the awning to.

Thank you everyone for the advice or rather GDs input. I called three different rv shops and they all said "sure we can install an additional awning" didn't ask to bring in the rig to make sure it will hold the awning. I to liked the second awning on the 315. Buyer beware.
