Our trailer shakes whenever someone walks around in it, and has since new. I've been told that it is due to the length of the trailer, which makes sense. The stabilizers on the four corners help some, but don't make that much of a difference. I'm wondering if I ought to add four more, one pair between the front tires and the front stabilizers and a second pair between the rear stabilizers and rear tires. Would that help, or just be something extra to mess with?

I suppose what I really need is a set of hydraulic levelers like the fifth wheels have <grin> but that costs far more money than we have.

I use 4 Camco slide stabilizers placed on the frame just ahead and just behind the tires on each side. I had the ends modified by a local metal shop to fit snugly up under the frame rails. They are supposed to support up to 5,000 lbs each, but there is no need to try and lift the trailer with them. I just snug them up tight once the rig is level and they provide a solid vertical connection between the frame and the ground. This plus the stabilizers on each end plus the tongue jack firms the rig up quite a bit. Not concrete solid, but quite a bit of improvement.

I use two of these type of stabilizers just ahead of the front tires. This keeps the frame from dipping down on the leaf springs. Also, a set of expanders between the two trailer tires on each side keeps it to pretty near no movement. It used to bug us a lot!

Key things to improve stability:
1. Use leveling blocks under your stablizers to minimize the length of the stablizer arm. The closer the stablizer (either single arm or scissor jack) the more it will wiggle.
2. Use some sort of expanding block between the tires to minimize movement of the tires https://www.google.com/search?q=bal...ivARgKmAMAkgcHMC4xLjEuMqAH_zw&sclient=gws-wiz
3. Install JT Strong Arms on your existing stabilizers legs. https://www.lippert.com/travel-trailer-kit-jts-strong-arm-jack-stabilizer-191025

We use JT Strong Arm kit for our 5er. However, they do make a kit for TTs too.

I do use a pair of X-Chocks between the tires. The electric stabilizers rest on a stack of treated 2x6 boards. If we're fairly level I put a stack of four under each stabilizer. If we're quite a bit off I'll go three and five. The bottom one in each stack is 24" long, and the rest are 8" long. That arrangement makes it easier to slide them around to exactly where I want them.
