337RLS water on step hinge area

Recently we had a lot of rain come down as we were packing up. Noticed the hinge area at the door holds water. Why no drain? Also we see a lot of water that would be dripping off the steps once inside on the floor. Wiping it down before going inside is what we do but still just seems this is a potential issue with water intrusion at the door area.
