Hello, I am going to purchase a toy hauler and happened to stumble across this manufacturer. I have been to my local dealer here in Southern California and absolutely love this trailer. Can anyone tell me anything about their Momentum? Likes, Dislikes, any warentee work done etc....I'm trying to do my homework before I purchase and would appreciate any feed back...I am afraid to spend the 90K on this trailer and absolutely hate it! Thanks again! Oh and I own a 2006 Ford F-350 FX4 Lariat with all the updates and bullet proofing done to the motor...If that helps....thanks again!

you will want a dually tow rig if yours isn't. these things are heavy on the pin.

other than that, i can not comment on much more than initial quality, as we have only had ours for 3 nights now. Best built RV i have ever owned (this is #4), and to be honest, way nicer than a few of the other "high end" TH's my friends have...

We have a 348 M I dont know the pin weight on the 350 m but I think there close and I pull mine with a 2008 dodge 3500 SRW with no trouble ! Our trailer has been ok we had alot of issues at first but everything is almost resolved and the customer service has been great! We looked at alot of toy haulers before buying this one and can say that the grand design is one notch above the rest in quality!

Brentalive and RJTimmer, thanknyou for responding! Brentlive, I am glad tobhear you are towing with SRW with no issues....honestly its my biggest concern...I am going to have an B&W goosneck hitch installed next month and run the Anderson alternative hitch....that way I can still use the bed of my truck and I wont blow an O'ring trying lift the 5th hitch out....I completely agree about the quality of the 5th wheel I was looking real hard at the Heartland Cyclone 3010 because the weight falls in line with my trucks max 5th wheel tow capacity at 15,500....However the 350m hell the Momentum models in general just seem better built...You can talk to a sellsmen all day long and they will lie to yourface everytime. The best info is from the owners! So I really do very much appreciate your response!

Even though an srw says it will pull it, and it will, if you run mountain passes and open plains, the wind and curves in the road will make them selves much more noticed than an srw, than a drw. For me it's just a safety and comfort thing...

Sounds like you may be joining the GD family TT

Your right timer, it makes me nervouse going over the recommended weight ratings but I can't afford to purchase a new truck and a new 5th wheel, and I don't want to buy a different brand...so I am at a cross roads I guess.. Buy Somthing I feel is sub par OR over load my truck, buy air bags, cross my fingers and toes and prey I don't crash!

That article really puts into perspective....I need to get my truck weighed for sure....I may not be purchasasing a momentum after all....I will keep you guys posted..

We have a 350M that we pull with a Ram 2500, with Firestone airbags in the rear and tires with 3860 lbs max wt rating. Next summer I may buy a set of dually wheels for the front and rear mearly to have the extra width on my wheel track. I've taken the fully loaded rig with no water in the tanks, which is how I travel, to the scale and I'm well within the safety margins. The tires I have will hold the pin wt with about 700 lbs to spare. We've had no issues with cross winds or mountains, but then again I have a Ram with an excellent exhaust brake and 20 inch wheels with wide tires. I've compared the total tread contact patch on the std 17 inch dually tires with my SRW tires and there is only a small marginal difference. The air bags with 50 psi really make the difference in stability. Good Luck. If you buy another TH you'll regret it. The 350M is fantastic!

Ram 2500 Mega Cab SRW, Firestone Air bags, B&W Gooseneck hitch with Campanion 5th wheel hitch which allows me to turn 90 deg w/o a slider.

I have the 350m just purchased 3 months ago, I run a 06 ram 5.9 with srw air bags and sway bar, pin weight is 2900lbs and she runs with no trouble. As far as trailer goes, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I have been out 6 times in 3 months including freezing weather and snow and have had very minor issues, mostly interior adjustments and minor stuff, no mechanical at all so far. I have owner 7 different manufacturers and so far this has been the best. Like you I could not afford a new truck either, so I spent the money to bullet proof the trans, and added the bags, I also run the B&W turnover and an anderson hitch, absolutely the cats meow for towing a 5er!! My 5.9 is heavily modified as I'm a gear head by trade but she runs great in the hills with no problems!!! I will keep you posted on trailer so far so good!!

I have a Momentum 385th and absolutely love it. I have it for over 2 years now and could not be happier. I just came back from the Grand Design factory where I had some work done on my trailer and also got tours of the factory by Jerry McCarthy. It is amazing to see this company at work. I also got the chance to sit down with one of the owners Bill Fenech. If you do decide to go with Grand Design you will not be dissapointed. I was looking at a lot of other brands (Raptor, Fuzion, Cyclone, Voltage etc) before we decided on the Momentum for its quality and craftsmanship. After seeing how the company operates and how their RV's are constucted it just reenforced that I made the right decision.

Ra, thank you for your respinse and sharing your expierence. I planned on purchasesing the airbags and like you do not plan ever hitting the gross weight. I have 1 quad a 1991 Banshee that I will be storing in the garage. And do not plan on filling the entire 147 gallons of water the thing is capable if holding we do not dry camp more than 2 days at a time...when we do camp for 3 or 5 days its at a campsite with full hookups...(I'm prissy!). I am pretty sure as far as pulling mu truck can handlethe weight. I am concerned about stopping this thing...but as long as I do not max load this thing I have room to spare as far as my ratings...I need to go and weigh my truck so I know for certain how much she weighs.

Thays awesome man! I am excited to hear you love your trailer...the 350m floor plan is awesome! Seems like it has nice counter space as well as the tv seems to be in a great spot...out of the way of the kitchen!

I have a 350M and have been on the road with it since mid-August. I had her weighed at the GD rally and with 1/2 tank of water 1/2 grey and black tanks and some stuff for my nephew and sister we weighed in 700 # over. With have since off loaded all the extra's and run with less water now. I hope to get a new weight soon. BTW our cargo is 5 bicycles- the RZR is on the list but that would put over my payload again! I boon dock a lot , so I do run with at least 1/2 tank of water always. I tow with a 2014 Ram 3500 DRW. Check the brakes, do they have dual callipers? rear axle load, etc. The exhaust brake are great, which would help stopping a lot. Do you have them! We use love the rig, hopefully you can make the numbers work for you and feel safe!!

700# over on what weight (s)?

GVWR of 16500. We came in at 17200. Note that we are first timers and we stored way too much stuff. With that said I feel the limits are too close to max. I changed my tires out to Westlake ST 235 85R 16 to increase my tires payload to 4050 lbs. So far 3000 miles or so the tires have been great. I have been watching them with a monitor.

It's of how gvwr is calculated..... GD uses the sum of pin and axle, others like Forest River use axle and pin separately. Our work and play had an axle payload of 18000, plus the pin at 3000 for a total of 21k. That was with 3 6k axles, and the same designed 12" I beam frame from lippert......
