5th wheel towing

I was wondering if anyone is towing a
337 RLS or equivalent 5th wheel with a 2024 Chevy cc standard bed(6’10”)
Diesel with max tow package.both GM
And my dealer have told me my GVWR
And payload capacity is the same as the 1 ton,but not having the 1ton numbers on my door sticker is causing
Concern.Any help would be greatly appreciated, also my truck is 2500 3/4 ton HD

The door sticker is gospel, anything else is bs.

You reported that your sticker indicates that your truck can handle a Pin Weight of 3240 and also can pull a fifth wheel up to 21,600. Since you report that the rig you are interested in presents a posted Pin Weight of 2300 and fully laden weight of 13,995 it appears that you would be within the limits of your sticker provided your other cargo/payload in your truck is
3542-2300= 1242 lbs or less. So, it appears that based on what you have shared you should fall within the sticker. Whether or not you are comfortable is truly subjective and only you can decide. Of course much goes out the window if your rig is overweight or if you overload the truck with people or stuff (including, say, a heavy hitch).

TLDR: These numbers appear to work BUT many people including myself ended up with a Dually when we did the same analysis. Only you can know where you fall on the spectrum of safety.
 
The 2,300 is dry, no battery or LP or anything else you would load into the unit for camping. That unit is most likely going to end up with between 2,800 to 2,900 on the pin once fully loaded. Hate to say it but with a 120# hitch or 50? for the Anderson and a couple of people in the truck it's going to be really tight and probably over the rated payload. The 303RLS is a bit shorter but essentially the same floor plan and would end up with a pin weight of 2,300 or so loaded, more within the truck parameters. Just food for thought.

Lots of data on these forums for the 337 RLS. They are pin heavy and should be pulled with a one ton SRW or dually.
 
Just a couple of thoughts...

When I was looking at buying a truck, I added 5,000 lbs to the weight of the trailer, this way I was sure to get a truck that could handle my camper, but more importantly, I would have enough truck if I ever decided to upgrade the camper in the future.

To minimize the payload/pin weight, you might consider the Reese Goosebox instead of a traditional 5th wheel hitch. We really love the Goosebox !!!!!

One of the things that we liked about the dually, vs the single rear wheel truck is that it sits lower to the ground, which makes it easier to get in and out of. It also takes smaller tires which are easier to find and cheaper than the 21 or 22 inch SRW tires.

PS: because we have a 5th wheel, I chose the long bed and I am glad I did. Because, I am not limited in how sharp I can turn when towing or backing into a tight spot.

Yeah I have not either. I have a 2500HD Gas, and payload is 3476. The diesel engine usually takes away from payload capacity. I'm not saying there isn't one out there in the wild that I haven't seen.

"Posted" pin weights mean nothing. When loaded, the 337 will fall anywhere between 2,800 and 3,200 lbs. on the pin depending on what's in the trailer.

He has one of the "max tow" 2500's, that is basically a 3500 that is sold as a 2500 with 2500 numbers. Same bigger axle and rear end of the 3500 including the overload spring. Not sure why they do it.

As long as the tires are LT's, I wouldn't have a problem with the truck at GVWR, or just above.

With GM typically the wheels and tires are the same between 2500/3500 of similar trim levels.

He should be good. A 3500 may have 4000ish lbs of payload. Not much difference in the case of this truck. I’d imagine this will be just fine for the trailer being considered.
 
The payload sticker on our 2024 SLT 3500HD SRW with the Duramax has a max payload of 3,776#. My understanding is the 2500HD Duramax with the max-tow option does have the same 12" ring gear and overload spings as the 3500HD SRW.
