A/C covers needed for winter?

Heading into 1st winter fulltiming. Heading south not an option yet. Anyone use, recommend using them?

We don't use AC covers for a couple of reasons. I'm not sure how long they would hold up at highway speeds (you may be stationary, though). We're also not so far north that there's not a chance of an afternoon or two where the sun heats up the rig enough that we run the ACs for a while. On rare occasions, the humidity stays high enough for long enough (think two-week rainy period) that we'll run heaters and an AC at the same time to pull some humidity out of the rig (I don't want to carry around a bulky dehumidifier just to use a few times a year).

We use to cover the A/C but they had to be removed for travel so we stopped putting them on. Now all we have to worry about is wasp nests under the cowling.

I have not found them to much help. Essentially, the A/C unit does not vent directly to the outdoors. There may be some heat loss there, but I have never felt a "draft" coming from the A/C unit in the winter, even during high winds. I have felt a draft around the door. I have felt a draft around the slides. But never the A/C units.

One thing I do recommend is vent pillows: Walmart Vent Pillows they are cheap and easy to use.

Thanks. We were getting ready to also look for the vent pillows. The one you show should easily fit in bathroom but I don't think it will fit in kitchen with the fantastic fan......seems shallower? Thoughts?

Doesn't matter. They squeeze into the hole and are held by the pillow material trying to expand. So if it's too shallow then the pillow is not flush with the ceiling, or not recessed into the hole, it just sticks out a little bit.
