I'm trying to get a better understanding of my thermostat functions and which is the best to use during AC operation for best performance. My thermostat is an Aircell digital and has the following functions: fan low, fan hi, cool low, cool high, cool low auto, cool hi auto and heat. I understand that running the fan circulates the air and will not call for the AC to engage.

I'm wondering how folks are setting their thermostats for example, setting up and very hot, running AC during the day and overnight. When would you use a certain setting over another?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We no longer have the AirCel thermostats, swapped both out for Micro-Airs. But, when we did have them, we set them on Cool Auto Hi for the temperature we wanted. Because we have the RV Airflow (type - our own version) that use the ceiling race track system only, we set the bedroom (door shut) AC higher temp than the living room AC. This helps cycle the 2 ACs and keeps the RV at a desired temp.

At night time, my DW is a light sleeper. So we run fan only in the bedroom AC for white noise purposes.

Will have to experiment to find the sweet spot cooling you require.
