Hello!

Anyone else have any issues with their Goodyear Endurances? My new this spring 2024 Reflection had all 4 tires go bad in under 400 miles. The side walls started bubbling and was deemed by goodyear to be a manufacturing defect with lots of broken cords in each tire. Of course my dealer, Tireshield, and Lionshead all wanted nothing to do with it (nothing like paying for a warranty right?) But luckily goodyear is working with me to get refunded for the new ones they tossed on.

I was not overloaded, all were right at 80PSI pre trip, don't drive over 65mph intentionally, and had only gone on a few trips. No known major potholes that would have hit all 4 tires etc. They do seem to run hot though? My built in TPMS monitor has had them up to 150F when just cruising down the highway? The dealer said this was normal, I am no expert there.

Just has be a bit nervous about what is supposed to be a "higher end" tire.

Very strange indeed. Glad the mfg is working with you. Yes they are supposed to be better tires and mine lasted nearly 20k miles before I swapped them out for larger tires of the Michelin brand with a 60k warranty.
Good luck to you!

I've seen several reports of Endurance problems, including my dad's Pinnacle. Its on the list for me of tires I would not consider for a trailer.

"High end" should never be used when talking about ST tires

I have put man, many miles on several sets of Goodyear Endurance tires and some of them have had sidewall indentations. They are harmless and never caused me any issues. When I noticed them I looked into it.
Read the part about sidewall indentations:
https://www.discounttire.com/learn/...s essentially what a,the rest of the sidewall.
Not sure if this is the same issue the OP is experiencing..... but, I have read the same. My Endurance tires also had some indentations on the sidewalls after purchasing them new and installing. Also never had any problems.

I didn't realize Michelin made trailer tires for RV's. What model are they?

I’ve always had these on my FW’s till I owned my GD. They all looked like this, but never any issues after 1000’s of miles. Of course never overloaded or under pressure. That’s just a feature of the Endurance tire. Had Goodyears on my last truck with the same “feature”. No issue there either.

The "sliped" or "broken" belts that I have experienced in tires have all bulged outward. They have also caused my vehicles to shake or shudder at certain speeds no matter where located.

Unfortunately on trailers, It would be "more" difficult to notice when towing, and, a more comprehensive tire/wheel inspection would be required IMO to identify the correct issue. Maybe this has been done in the OPs situation.

Thanks for the feedback! The photo's do not do justice, they were "bubbling" outward, not just the indentions. Local Goodyear service center manager came out and checked them out as I was nervous to drive on them with how they looked. The new set they put on does have indentions and confirmed with them that that was normal. My guess is just a bad lot from the week they were manufactured. Hopefully nobody else runs into the same problem. Safe travels! Cheers!

I had “bubbles” on all 4 of my GYs with my 2022 2600RB. Noticed them after i got the trailer home from the dealer, 40 miles away. 3 tire dealers ( 2 were Good year) said they were no good, but wouldn’t warranty them. Lions Head had no problems replacing them after i sent the required pictures. 4 days later 4 tires showed up at my house plus a check for $130 to mount/balance them.
Almost 20 k miles towing and still ok. ( knock on wood)

We've had one bad Endurance tire in 7 years. And that was actually a road hazard issue. We replace our tires every 20,000 miles, just on general principals.

Mine were the same way. I Called Goodyear and told them and they said go to a Goodyear service center and the guys there looked over the tires and said Yep this is bad and I got all four brand new ones from Goodyear for free. I was told that the tires are made specifically for the RV dealerships and they sit in a warehouse sometimes for a long time and if your tires are on the bottom of the stack, they get warped.

I had one tire that looked exactly like this when I bought my unit new off the lot last July. Dealer inquired with Lionshead and according to them Goodyear says this is not abnormal and nothing is wrong with the tire. Of course I have all this in writing if something happens... but I have taken them at their word and almost 4000 miles later no issues.

That is somewhat Correct. Each tire has one finger indentation. So on every good year endurance tire you can take your finger and stick it in one of those indentations. If you have more than one or if you have bubbles, etc., then it is not correct.

Curious.... why would 1 or multiple indentations make any difference? Wouldnt any of them be an issue if an indentation is considered bad?

I just pulled two off my rig for that sidewall problem. Mine were not the slight indentations but rather a bulge like the OPs pic. Both tires had the same bulge on inside and outside sidewalls. I thought I hit something but Discount tire confirmed they were defective.

This is the last two endurances in a string of 6 that I have removed from my rig. The other 4 had tread separation. I now have 6 Carlisle Radial Trail HD.

I would encourage all to learn how to inspect your tires for tread separation along the tread surface.

I have had ZERO luck getting compensated for blown tires BUT I have gotten MANY tires replaced under warranty when I bring them in with a defect before they blow.

Also, in my tire size 235/80 R16, the tread depth of the GYE is only 8/32” and its capacity is <3500#. Not suitable for 7k axles.

Update: My new set of tires is doing the exact same thing. Maybe 400 miles on them max. Not over weight, not over 65mph. Grand Design now has sent me this when I called them. I guess this is now considered normal? I have never seen this on any tire or trailer tire before except now on Endurances. 4-6 indentations on each one, and a few "protrusions" as well. Goodyear also now says this is normal (change of tune from my last visit there). Honestly, makes me nervous as when they cosmetically look so bad, not even sure what to be checking for before a trip. Maybe next year I swap to something new in terms of tires, just not a lot of "good" options with this rim size in terms of upgrading. Hopefully someone finds this info from GD / Lionshead helpful!

It is the bulge near the rim that really makes me nervous at the end of the day more than anything. But Goodyear and GD both said that is "normal"
