We purchased our AIM in December ’23 but things got off to a slow start. After getting it home, we camped beside the house and looked it over in more detail. Nine days later it went back for warranty work. We’ve read about the how long warranty work takes. We were disappointed, but not entirely surprised that it was four months before we got our trailer back. Christmas and New Years impacted the repair time some.
The warranty items were:
Converter replaced - Due to the solar, we failed to notice during the walkthrough that the converter was not operating.
Cooktop replaced - After cooking our first meal, the red lights on the cooktop knobs would not go out. The control board apparently suffered ‘infant mortality’.
Dinette window replaced - The Cleer Vision window frame was a bit warped and the sliding window did not seat completely, leaking when sprayed. This was the pacing repair item. The first replacement window arrived damaged and the second took an additional month to get there.
Water leak at toilet input fitting - We should have noticed this during the walkthrough but since it was going back, we had the dealer fix it.
Door gasket replaced - We noted during the walkthrough the gasket was torn but the dealer needed to order the part.
We’ve done our first two night shakedown trip and all went well. We’re busy adding some personal touches. We prefer off grid camping, so a lithium upgrade is in progress (thank you forum posters for your insights!).
Our previous trailer was essentially the same floor plan and it was a good fit for our needs (a couples trailer, no slide, rear bathroom layout, more than enough storage for us, a camp side dinette window to contemplate the great outdoors). We’ve downsized from 24’ to 20’ in length, shed some pounds and advanced 20 years in technology. As they say, let the adventure begin!
