Any car guys here?

in my younger days 1970 i owned a 1965 GTO tri power hurst close ratio four speed Pontiac green black leather interior. was a ball to drive, but alas if had only known that the car would be worth so much today?

Isn't that the truth. Much to the wife's chagrin, I always had two cars or more. There isn't any car I had that wouldn't be worth a bunch today. I sold my GTO to a young chap who decided to drag it on a tree lined street in the snow. I don't know how he survived but the center of the car just behind the door was 10" wide when he broadsided a large oak. I gave away a 55 Merc Montclair with 48K miles and a 57 Chevy Bel Air convertible which a friend gave me when my dad wanted his garage back. Sold the 70 Vette and figured I'd never see it again. Went over to sister-in-laws house and the guy next door was the one that bought it. Talk about rubbing it in. Show winner with 2K miles and two body off restorations with 6 figure appraisal.

Looking back I originally posted my 55' Buick in 2018. Wow, that seems like yesterday. Anyway, recently got it back from 6 months of body and paint restoration.

After 7 years of building my truck from the frame up it is finally licensed and drivable. Took it down to my Dad's place to show it to him. I've owned this truck since '73 and he went with me when I bought it back then. He loved it.

Very cool!
Other than the wheels, is that a stock looking 55 Buick?
Sorry if it's a stupid question...I'm a musclecar Dodge guy...

Pretty much stock looking. The wheels, as you pointed out, are not, the suspension is a few inches lower, the side mirrors are from a 61' but otherwise the exterior is a 55' Century Riviera. The drivetrain is from a 64' Buick Wildcat (401 nailhead and ST400 auto) and the interior is custom.

Not a car but hopefully it counts! I chose to build a 2008 Toyota FJC because no one had done it.
500hp built LS3
Built Th400
Dual transfer cases 12:1 low low reduction
12pt cage

You all have some really nice cars. Mine isn't nearly that nice. It's a 1963 F100 I bought from a friend last winter. It's been in pieces for 15 years in his barn. I've replaced both cab supports and floor pans. Working on the door well area now as both sides had holes covered in Bondo. Plan on leaving it stock for most part and just enjoy driving it. Hopefully next spring it'll be on the road.

My grandmother was the original owner, she gave it to me for my 17th birthday. I then abused it like a teenage idiot and parked it around '88/'89 then it sat until around '94 when I started fixing her up. Took me forever, and still isn't done, but at least she looks good. Some day I need to finish the interior and she sorely needs a new engine.. some day I'll swap in a 302 with fuel injection, 5 speed tranny and a new rear end. I did all of the wrenching and helped with a good bit of the bodywork.

"Marguerite" '64.5 Vintage Burgandy, 260 V8, 3sp, factory A/C, export brace, 'Shelby' drop w/negative camber kit, lower rear springs, Torq Thrust Ds

Originally the Mustang had 2 separate braces (left and right) from the firewall to each shock tower. When Ford started exporting the Mustang (as the T5) to Germany they added a one piece firewall to shock tower brace to stiffen the front end up better, hence "export brace". Ford also used the braces on the GT350s thanks to Carroll Shelby.

Not my car, brace runs from firewall to shock towers.

i forgot also had fun with a 2005 magnum rt1931003_46620617400_5927_n.jpg1931003_46620612400_5599_n.jpg

And expensive. I drive a Mopar and they are expensive...AMC's are even harder on the wallet.
Nice AMX! 390? Did they come with 401's?
No, the 401 didn't come out until 1971 but it was just a stroked 390 so I put a 401 crank in the 390 block. Bigger is always better, right?
