Hey,Just joined the forum yesterday as we are taking delivery of a Reflection ML250 and going to begin our second phase of RV ownership after a 6 year hiatus. I was a hot rod guy in high school and a grease monkey. Didn't do anything car wise for my first 35 year after college but was able to get my first mid eighties air cooled 911. I learned them inside and out and slowing put together my shop and restored and enhanced several since 2012. Attached below is a pic of what I called my orange collection. Only the 73 914 remains, the other two were sold for a bit of return to me. Anyone else tinker with old Porsches?
Paint looks great. Sounds like you have your own story of "bodyshop jail". I have a 440 Challenger and within that community have heard far too many frustrating stories of cars stuck at a body shop for far longer than reasonable. A friend of mine locally had is 86 Mustang in a shop for over a year and 7k over estimate.Just got it out of paint, 1 1/2 years later but thats another story. I have the original pontiac 350/325 hp engine at the machine shop getting done now. I'll drop it in this winter, but for now I'm going to drive it! View attachment 2460063View attachment 2460061
Very cool. I had planned on racing until I had brain surgery a few years ago and it affected my peripheral vision. Easy to work around for everyday driving but not acceptable on the track in traffic. The Porsche hobby has ben great for me.Hey,
65 Porsche 911. We've had lots of Porsches over the years, but we've owned our 65 for over 38 years - all numbers matching with it's original 2.0 liter. Attached a picture of it at Second Creek Raceway backwards in Colorado. We stopped racing it when it got so rare and started racing a 1964 Autodynamics.
