Looking for feedback on this unit. It will be our first fiver if we go this route. Still thinking I’ll get a slider hitch. We are a family of four, which includes two college kids that refuse to stop camping. That’s good. My son is 6’-5” and I’m 6’-5”. He tested the rear bunks and says corner to corner they are fine. If not, the truck-fold sofa should work. My daughter has no issue with the bunks at 5’-11”. I certainly need the 80” queen.
Any praises or complaints on this unit? Any thoughts for first time fivers? We have been camping 30 years, so no issues there. I don’t plan on using my 2019 F-150 Powerstroke as it is too light on payload. Going up to a Super Duty as soon as I can find one.
Thanks for the feedback!

KubotaKid,
I'm a John Deere guy (2017 1025R, 2021 Z545R).

Just purchased my first camper of my own (have camped often before). It's a 2022 278BH, towed behind a 2020 F-250 Diesel (got rid of my F-150). So far, so good. Built very well, nothing broken. If I was going to go someplace warmer, might opt for a second air conditioner. It was the perfect floor plan for my daughter since the rear bunkhouse has a door rather than a curtain like the 268BH. Has tons of cabinet storage, really like the drawers instead of the fireplace in the 28BH Reflection.

Get a better rear camera than the Furion (lots of better options). I'm used to having an attached grill, but the portable Colman 3000 QP works great with the gas ext cord. Going to put a bike rack on the rear hitch, possibly a fold-down platform in other cases. Stereo and TV are great, just working on the Winegard router for better internet.

Not too many add ons needed.

KubotaKid,
Also, I have the 6-3/4 bed (daily driver), and I installed a B&W hitch. No slider for me. Just pushed the adjustments as high and far back as I could. Solid setup, very happy with the towing.

Thank you for the responses. We were ready to buy but have to resolve a few items first. One being finding a new one-ton diesel Super Duty. I won’t pay $5k to $10k over MSRP, so I will likely need to order. I won’t see it until February, and by then, will likely pay 15% or more for the trailer. If that’s the case, we might just stop the merry-go-round and get off for a while.

Unfortunately it isn’t the right time to buy anything and won’t be for awhile
