I need to take my GD from Tennessee to near Elkhart Indiana to have the refrigerator replaced. A trip of 500 miles one way. Is there any thing worth seeing at or near Elkhart?

The RV hall of fame museum was pretty good. It is right off of the freeway. Shipshewana has some interesting shopping and they have a huge flea market but is only open monday through wednesday.

I'll second the rv museum.

Also; sign up now for a GD tour of the factory.

Tour the MorRyde plant too. IS is a great product.

Camp at the fairgrounds near The Henry Ford Museum and spent at least 2 full days visiting the outside and inside displays.

Thread moved to Campgrounds, Destinations and RV Trip Planning.

I'll second the RV Hall of Fame and Museum - terrific place! We also spent five days riding the rails-to-trails in the area on our bicycles. There's everything from Amizh markets to beautiful farmland, too.

There are a number of surplus stores in the area if you are into that sort of thing.

No one mentioned the Menno-Hof center that teaches visitors about the Amish and Mennonites. The DW and I found it quite interesting one year when we visited.

Also some nice shops for the shopper in you (or the DW) in/near Shipshewana.

Bontragers in White Pigeon ,MI it's a great surplus and one of our go tos when at the rally.
Also E&S market for their bulk bags of in house made noodles . And for those who sew/quilt there are some great fabric shops in the area.

It’s a little a ways from Elkhart, but there is the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum in Auburn, IN. It’s about 1 1/2 hours away. If you
like seeing great old cars, it’s worth the trip.

If you like to golf therre are a couple really good courses in South Bend, 1/2 hour away
