Well !@*#!! Now mine just came loose. We were camped along the shore in Northern Maine and had no internet service, so I wasn't able to follow this thread. When I hooked up the truck, and did a walk around this morning, I saw that the rail had come loose for about 18 inches on both the front and rear. I called JD, and he told me how to fix it. I made it to Vermont this evening and tried unsuccessfuly to locate the rivets. I'll call JD tomorrow and have them shipped to a location I'll be at in a few days. In the mean time, I need to hit the road in the morning, and I don't want to worry about the awning coming all the way off.
I got onto the roof and came up with a temporary fix that appears to work really good until I can get the rivets. I ran the awning out about 12 inches to give some room to work. I removed the loose screws one at a time and tightly stuffed the screw holes with toothpicks! Then I ran the screws back in and applied a significant amount of torque. The screws tightened up nicely, and the rail pulled back tight to the coach. Then I had Ginnie run the awning back in until it just touched. This should hold us until I get to Ohio in a few days and can perform a permanent repair.
Next, I'm going to put my engineering experience to work and design a limiter switch circuit which should prevent this from ever happening again. If I'm successful, I'll be happy to share the design with all of you.
Other than the problems I had earlier with the refrigerator, and now the awning, the 337 has held up very well over the 5000 miles I've put on it so far.
