I was considering buying a 2015 385TH model but discovered it only has 2 axles! The spec dry wt for this camper is 15,500 lbs so I don’t see how 2 axles are enough. Has anyone had problems with this particular setup?

Well, if it has 2 axles rated for 8,000 each, there wouldn't be a problem. Even if it is rated to 19,000 lbs., and 20% on the hitch will still put the axle carried weight under 16,000 lbs, so 8,000 lb. rated axles would meet the need. Just not a lot of room for excess. Personally I would examine the running gear and suspension very closely. If the springs are OEM I would expect them to be flat.

FWIW, our Momentum would be rated at 18,000 lbs. if it came specced with the 8,000 lb. rated axles. It only came with 7,000 lb. rated axles, so it the GVWR is 16,800 lbs.

Should be 2- 8000lb axles. 16,000 lbs on the axle rating.

Minimum 3500 on the pin. Add your "stuff" weight goes up.

19,500 gvwr. Distributed on 2 main points of contact with the ground (axles and landing gear or pin) There is never 16,000 lbs on the axles alone unless you are loading over gvwr.

I was looking at a 2015 385TH before I found our 397. What I found out the 2axle years had 8K axles & 17.5 tires then GD went to 3 axles midyesr maybe 2016
