Does anyone know how to lube the axles on a 308 BHTS?

If you refer to the spindles, bearings should be cleaned and re packed once a year, with ne inner seals, in my opinion
Yeah. I knew that and good advice. But isn't there a oil that need to be added to the Lipperts?

There is no "oil" in Lippert axles on your unit. You can inject grease into the zerk fitting on the hub, but I'd highly recommend against it. With Lippert's axle seal problems, you'll just be increasing the chances of contaminating the brakes if you inject grease. As mentioned above, once a year, remove each drum, remove and discard the axle seals, repack the bearings, install new seals, inspect and repair the brakes as needed, reinstall the drums, and adjust the brakes. Nothing more is needed, and you'll get years of use out of the bearings/axles if you properly maintain them.

Copy that. Thanks! I just thought I read in the Lippert manual about some type of oil that had to be added. I must have been wrong.

I have heard of oil bath bearings in axle hubs but never on a GD (at least so far)

Hi @beatcopy49,

To help us research and reply to you, please add your 17-digit RV VIN to the "About Me" section of your forum profile or send me a private message with you VIN, name, phone number. Thank you in advance...

Best regards,

I see oil bath bearings on my boat trailer. The grease is thin and injected with a grease gun in the hubs.

Thick axle grease applied manually does the job for my Reflection. Injecting grease with a grease gun can increase pressure and make the grease come out the grease seal on the back--contaminating the brake shoes and brake drum with grease. Then your brakes won't work at all until complete cleaning.
