Back door won't stay shut on trip.

Picked up my new Momentum 385th on Tuesday. I left the dealership at 4 pm in a torrential down pour in St. Louis rush hour traffic. A few miles later a tow truck driver pulls up beside me and began honking and pointing( if you travel a lot I'm sure you've had this happen) So we manage with some difficulty to make it through three lanes of rush hour traffic we pull over and notice the back door had come open. While annoyed (and damp) we just figured it hadn't latched well at the dealership. So today I'm on my way to Colorado and we pull into a gas station and the door flys open. So my husband goes in to lock and bunjee cord it it closed. I had to close the door from the outside because the latch on the back door is made of cheep plastic. The latch is such poor quality you cannot pull it closed from the inside because the plastic handle on the latch just bends and doesn't give you leverage to close the door. Very disappointing:(.

Are you talking the entry door into the garage? It might just be an adjustment problem, also I always lock the deadbolts when I travel, and I have the fold away grab handles on both doors that I fold over the door during transport just in case.

Hope it is an easy fix for you!!

I had the same problem on my Momentum. Deadbolt lock it from the outside, then pull it to make sure deadbolt is working, then push against door to make sure the door is fully shut. This should help your problem.

With any RV trailer, there is so much flex when these are going down the road, that you need to lock them with the deadbolt.
