I bought a AMTIFO backup camera and tested it before I mounted the camera. Once I mounted the camera, I have no connection to the monitor. Any idea what I need to do? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I'm assuming that you were able to power on the camera and monitor, and saw what you expected to see from the camera. Now, the monitor and camera aren't talking to each other. Is this correct?

I'll assume that your monitor is in place in the truck and connected to a live power source. The monitor is reporting that it can't find a camera. Correct?

I'd start with power to the camera. Most cameras get their power from the marker lights in the center of the trailer up by the roof. In other words, those lights have to be on in order for the camera to have power. Are those lights on? Do you get an image on the monitor? If the lights are on, but no image, I would try to pull the camera out and see if it is actually connected to power. Sometimes the connection is there when you are getting ready to install the camera, but when you push the extra wire back into the hole something lets loose. If you are lucky, it lets all the way loose and the problem is obvious. The fun comes when the connection either isn't completely tight or the wire is broken inside the insulation. It may work perfectly while pulled out away from the trailer, but the connection fails as soon as you try to stuff the wire back into the hole.

Does your camera use a repeater that is mounted on the roof of the trailer? If so, check that it is firmly connected. Some of those repeaters use replaceable batteries while others need a hard-wired connection.

Are your truck lights on? It will not work unless they are on. Also are the power buttons on the cord and at the screen on? My Amtifo did not have a repeater being it is wired. One more question are you hooked up to the trailer with the truck?

The lights may n0t need t0 be 0n. The Amtif0 w0rks 0n my M0mentum if the "Battery Disc0nnect Switch" is simply turned t0 "0N".

You need to have the running lights on for the camera to power up.

Older units were different, but anything that is 3 years old or newer need to have the running lights on.

Awesome information. Thank you for replying to my question. I will try these methods and see if that works. Thank you

On a different topic... is there a reason that you've started using the "zero number" key
instead of the alphabetical "o" key when you type all of your replies? Curious minds want to know. LOL!

This might be too simple a suggestion but if you wired the camera into your trailer taillights. Be sure your truck lights are on. This supplies power to the camera

Assuming you are talking about a dash top monitor, what kind of truck are you driving? Many folks have reported problems with newer Chevy (or was that GMC) trucks wherein the plugs do not emit enough juice or something to get their camera monitors to work. Its a known problem with the manufacturer of the truck and I believe the fix was a wiring harness from the maker of the truck.

Hello - Make sure the coach is plugged into your tow vehicle and the headlights are on. When I discovered the headlights on mine had to be on, so the camera is getting power, it was a "duh" moment for me.

Our 2024 GMC would not power up our camera as you mention. I had to get the Furrion Vision S power adapter to power up the camera. The pulse-width modulation (PWM) GM went to does not supply the constant power the camera requires. We ordered P/N F2BC004XXBK off Amazon and resolved the issue. I have also seen a new part come out that splices into the camera power wire harness where the camera attaches to the rear of the unit. That looks to be a clean permanent setup eliminating the need for a power adapter.

Can you please reference the in line part? I tried three of the Furrion plug adapters and had no luck. When the adapter was installed, I can't even get the lights to come on. Without the plug adapter, I get power to the lights and the blue light comes on the camera but it won't connect to the monitor.

Agreed Part number would be a great Help! Oh and ROLL TIDE!

Below is a link to the overview and install. Works for Furrion and Voyager cameras.

** Just a reminder. Verify the camera and the monitor are paired. TV running lights must be on to supply power to the rear camera.

We just returned from a trip and the Furrion adapter worked perfect with our furrion rear camera. Not sure what the issue is if several adapters failed to solve the PWM issue.
