I replaced the Furrion solar charge controller in my TT this weekend. I replaced the the Furrion with a Victron controller.
The Furrion controller was located on the basement wall closest to the front of the trailer. I put the Victron on the same wall. When I started this project I noticed there was rat poop all over the basement floor! I do not tolerate rats or mice in my TT or anywhere else!
I later noticed more rat droppings in the bedroom on the floor just below the “trap door” in the floor of the closet. This trap door is warped pretty bad so I am betting this how the rat got from the basement to the interior of the TT.
The only other place the rat could get to into the interior is by going over the wall next to the Nautilus water pipes. I stuffed this cavity with Rodent Control Mesh. This is really good stuff.
I am pretty sure after a thorough exam of the underbelly of the TT the rats are getting into the basement through a hole under the front cap next to the tongue. GD ran the wires for the solar charge controller through a black plastic fabric between the front cap and the trailer frame. I put a lot of black mastic tape around the wires to seal the hole in the fabric. I am not confident this is a permanent fix.
Has anyone tried to remove the front wall of the basement on their Reflection trailer? Or does anyone know how the wall is attached? I think I am going to have to remove this front wall to get to the plastic fabric and repair the hole from the inside.
I saw a few other posts from guys that had removed the walls on the other GD models. The posts were very helpful.
Just curious if anyone has removed the wall on a Reflection.
Thanks…Bill
