Battery goes to “low” while operating slides

This is why you can't trust everything you read on the internet.

What? I thought everything on the internet was fact? LOL

I bought a bluetooth battery monitor on amazon so I can keep an eye on the battery charge. I mostly was interested in knowing how the battery was holding up while towing, but it works great for monitoring all the time.

I have a newish 12V AGM battery. I keep the battery on a maintenance charger in the garage between all trips (dismounted from the trailer). On recent trips the battery readout on the control panel goes to “low” when operating the slides. It starts showing fully charged, then drops slowly, and the trailer is connected to shore power at the time. I took it to Advanced Auto and had them put it on their tester, which showed the battery if okay.
Comments (constructive, please) appreciated.
Please forgive me if this is too basic for you. But, the battery charge status lights are only indicating voltage. When you're moving the slides, you are taking current from the battery so the voltage (pressure) drops. As soon as you stop moving the slides, the battery voltage will recover if the batteries are healthy, and you should see "good" or "charged" again. If this is what you're observing, it's perfectly normal.

Thanks for the mostly helpful comments, and the concrete education. I’ve concluded my situation is normal.

I have the same issue. While on battery and operating the slides, everything works. If I go back in a couple of days the battery is dead, even with solar system that came with camper. If I plug into 30a everthing works great. If I unplug the 39a service it starts over again.

One thing I ran into when I bought the trailer. It had one 100 amp hr battery group 24 I think. Wanted to upgrade to AGM and had them put two in. After getting it home, found the AGMs were 75 amp hrs so instead of doubling my capacity, I only increased it by 50%. Just let it be because it was still better than having to ad water or getting corroded terminals.
My point is if you only have one AGM and its rated for 75 anp hrs, Thats not much reserve, but it sounds like you have already figured it out.

When charging the battery outside the trailer, make sure the battery is on a block of wood. If on concrete it will drain from the battery.

Totally false. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

This rumor was around way before the internet.

There was a time where it was true, but that was before they had plastic cases.
