Hello. I'm having an issue with my bedroom in my 315RLTS getting to hot when heat in main area is on. I've noticed there is no way to set heat temp in bedroom on thermostat. When I have main living area set to 68-70, the bedroom temp is running at 70-75. There is only one heat duct on bedroom as well. So rn, I have to keep the thermostat in main living area around 60-62 so we don't roast in the bedroom while the other part stays chilly. We have had to turn on bedroom AC to keep it cool while leaving heat on in living area. We have Airxcel thermostats. Is this normal or we don't something wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

There is only ever one controlling thermostat for heat, since there is one furnace. You have 2 thermostats for the 2 a/c units.

Try just running the fan in the a/c to circulate the heat.

Which AC fan are you saying to run fan on? Living area AC or bedroom AC?

It really doesn't matter, the ducts all run together....

Moving the air will help equalize the heat.

I'm still a bit confused on this system. I also have an RV Airflow in main living area that came with RV. I have the main AC off, bedroom AC on and I'm getting cold air although light from the main living area ducts. This may be causing the heater to turn on causing this whole cycle of living area heat kicking on cause it's chilly but bedroom is hot. ?‍♂️ What do I do next?

All units dump air into the duct system so all are tied into the same duct system so you should expect that.

Tape the bedroom heat vent over with duct tape so the furnace doesn’t dump heat into the bedroom and everything will be perfect. I had to do that in my bunk room because it is closest to the furnace (very short duct from the furnace) Bunk room was getting all the heated air so it was super hot in there.

Your ac ductwork looks like this

My bathroom also gets super hot but I'll indeed try covering bedroom vent. Will the bedroom now be too cold? Just a thought.

It's strange that the ac ducts in bedroom have dampers to close but the ducts in living area do not. None of the heating ducts have ability to close either. Coming from a single AC unit to this comes with its learning curves I guess. Thank you for your help.

Check Amazon for replacement covers that are adjustable. If you can find same type/brand by looking at the pictures, that are adjustable you can just pop the old non-adjustable ones off and put the adjustable ones on. Another option is to pop one off and take it to an RV store and find equivalent that has dampers or adjustable. I agree, no rhyme or reason to which ones are adjustable.

We lay a washcloth across part of the heat register to cut down the flow to the bedroom. The washcloths are cheap, already in the trailer and require no installation.

We replaced the plastic vent in the bedroom with a metal vent that closes. Then purchased magnetic vent cover material and cut it to size (from Lowes https://www.lowes.com/pd/Frost-King-FK-8-in-x-15-in-MAGNETIC-3-PACK-VENT-COVER/3135119). My wife likes it very cool at night. The heat will be on to keep the main area warm, keep water lines safe etc, but if the temperature outside is warmer then 20 degs, bedroom windows are open at night (whether in the RV or the brick and stick). This has solved the issue to lower the bedroom temp at night. During the day, with the magnetic vent cover in place and the windows closed, the bedroom stays nice and warm at the set temperature.

We've found that keeping a small cotton bathroom rug completely over the floor vent next to the bed works best.... and it's easier on my feet than stepping on that grill in the middle of the night! If it gets too chilly in the bedroom I'll expose about one quarter of the floor vent. We also run the bedroom AC unit at night on "Low Fan - On" setting to circulate the warmer bedroom air throughout the rest of the RV, usually keeping the bedroom ceiling vents closed. The added benefit is the white noise from running the AC unit helps mask the sounds of the grizzly sleeping next to me, lol.
