Hi There,

I would like to install a TV in the bedroom on the backer location. Can someone recommend the maximum length of the screws i should be using for the tv bracket? This is our first Trailer/RV and i don't want to screw this thing up!

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben (@Hunter),

First, congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Grand Design RV family! We would recommend a #10 screw with coarse threads (pre-drilling is advisable). Wall penetration should be 1” or less. The EGS backer provided will handle up to 25 pounds; however, do not leave the TV installed while travelling. Please contact our Customer Support directly at (574) 825-9679 if you have further questions.

Best regards,

Is there a diagram of the structure behind the wall there so that I can figure out a good mount for that area? Lots of swivel mounts with different ways to mount to the wall.

This is the mount I was looking at.

Thanks,

Hi Gary (@gerberhard),

Our drawings are very basic, and intended for our Production purposes only (as a guide). However, if you add your 17-digit RV VIN to the "About Me" section of your forum profile (and reply back to let me know when that has been done) or send me a private message with your VIN, name, and phone number we would be glad to research the bedroom TV backer in your Momentum fifth wheel.

Best regards,
~ Janice

Thanks I will get that info. I have sent you a PM with the info.

I don't pick up my until Saturday so I have some time.

Thanks

Should the factory installed televisions be removed from the wall when traveling? I assumed they would be ok to leave up. Please advise what GD recommends.

Hi Michael and Ann (@Lyvmy70),

In post # 1, @Hunter was inquiring about the bedroom TV in the Imagine 2800BH travel trailer, which is not factory installed.

Factory installed TV's should be secured in the traveling position and kept installed (not removed), when you are traveling with your RV.

Best regards,

Thanks, Janice. I appreciate your reply.

Hi @geberhard,

Thanks for the reply and Congratulations -- Welcome to the Grand Design RV family! The simplest way to locate EGS backer is to use a strong magnet around the area where the factory-installed "TV backer" label is affixed to the bedroom wall of your RV. If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Customer Support directly at (574) 825-9679.

Best regards,

Janice thanks so much for the help. I assume that means that it is a piece of Steel behind the wall. I wasn't sure if it was one sheet or 2. Meaning I didn't want to be to close to the joint of the 2 sheets.

Thanks

FYI: The sheet of metal is pretty large--allowing you to move the mounting around to suit your television's size. I used a large 1 1/4" sheet metal screw with a smaller guide hole.

Hi there -

I have 2016 Imagine Bunkhouse (2800bh) and want to install a tv in the bedroom. Does anyone have recommendations for a tv mount and tv size?

Thank you!
-thom

tv: 24" works fine.
for the mount, Amazon: AIQUE TV Articulating Mount 180 Degrees Swivel Black for Flat Screens 10-24 inch LED LCD TVs Up To VESA 100x100mm

When adding a tv to bedroom or bunk room can those be left up during travel. I was looking a installing one in our bedroom using a locking mount and 24 in tv. Or would it be safer to just use a mount that we can remove the tv easily?

We have had our TV mounted permanently in our bedroom for 3 & 1/2 years now with no problems. It is mounted into the metal backing on the wall that GD had put in there.
