Hello,

Being a newbie, with our first camping trip upcoming, I'm wondering what are the best or better ways to store the sewer hose? I bought 2 ten foot hoses that can be joined if needed. My original thought was to store them in a plastic tote. Then I discovered the long 8ft tube under our Grand Design AIM 18BH. It looks like it can hold one of the hoses. Then today, I saw these soft storage containers for electric cords, waste water, and fresh water. I'm concerned that the waste water storage container while waterproof, does have a mesh top, so odor is a concern. Thought?

Welcome! Those 10' hoses actually collapse to more like 3' each, so the two of them can be connected and easily fit in that tube. BTW, those sewer hoses are sometimes referred to as "stinky slinky" because they resemble that toy.

I added 2 more of the storage tubes like the one that came pre-installed. I got the Valterra adjustable ones and screwed them to the frame rail. I use sewer hose caps on my hoses, so no mess in the tubes.

We only have the OEM installed single tube... but do exactly the same with end caps before storing. The caps on the "stinky slinky" also provide help in keeping the "slinky" from expanding when handling. Recommend the end caps.

Perfect. Thanks!

Thanks for your help!

Do you have a rear bumper? I store mine in the rear bumper and bought a magnetic end cap for one side. I would attach a pic but its not allowed?

I store my 2 10 footers in the rear bumper. Also bought the magnetic cap, and drilled a small hole in the other end and inserted a cotter pin to hold that cap in place.

We use the 5" post covers, with a length of eave inside to hold the hose. The eave can be pulled out to make loading and unloading the hose easier. Mounted to the trailer frame with metal strapping or bolts through the top. I've seen the Valterra hose containers broken off before, with only the mounts left. Oops. :)
