Best Way to Update or Replace an Old Post?

Hey everyone,

I recently made a post but realized I left out some important details that might affect the responses I get. I was thinking of deleting the old post and making a new one with all the correct information, but I don’t want to break any rules.

I checked the forum guidelines but didn’t see anything specific about this. If I update my original post, will that bring it back to the top, or is there a better way to handle this situation? I want to make sure people see the correct information while staying within the forum rules.

Would appreciate any advice—thanks in advance!

If you still have the "edit" capability, then just go ahead and edit the original post to what you need it to say. If you don't have "edit" available, get back with me or any of the other moderators and we can help you out or edit it for you.

I wanted to edit a post from yesterday as I missed a word. Don't see an edit feature. I don't care to do it now, but does the edit feature disappear after x amount of time?

Which post is it? We moderators always have the edit button. If you let us know, we could make the change for you.
