Bicycle Rack Recommendation

Check out the Lippert Jack It that mounts on the tongue jack on our Imagine 2600RB. I carry two high end mountain bikes and love it. GD does not recommend carrying bikes on back bumper as it not attached to frame. Go to Lippert.com and read up. Most stable rack I have ever had.

And it looks like this. Also quite happy with ours.

We have a Grand Design Imagine 2250RK. We installed our own make shift Bike Rack in the bed of our F150 which only has a 5.5ft bed. We just did a YouTube video on how we installed it and how it works. The video will release Next Sunday (Dec 8). I have included the link down below if you would like to check it out when it comes out. We looked at a ll these other bike carriers and knew we did not want to install one on the camper bumper, but all the others were so expensive. So we built it ourselves and installed it for under $40. Everything we used has links in the video description. And we are not endorsed or sponsored by anyone so it is all our unbiased opinions. Check out the video and we hope it helps you and saves you a lot of money and work.

Hello rrhudy21,

Five years ago I looked at all the great replies and advice from my question about a bike rack for my Imagine 2250RL. I ended up going with the Lippert Aero bike rack that mounts above the propane tanks/tongue jack on the trailer tongue.

Five years ago it wasn't problem to lift a 30 pound bike over my head and maneuver it on the rack. Five years later it has become a real problem.

I decided it was time to try something else. I watched your video again and decided it was the way to go since a bumper mount was really expensive, around a $700 to have a hitch receiver welded to the frame.

I just installed the fork lock mounts on my bed rails and set the bikes in them, they lock in pretty solid. We are going on a short 120 mile trip soon and I'll see how they hold up.

My question is about whether in the past five years you have experienced any problems with your mounting system and if there is anything I need to do differently or in addition to the work I've already done?

I appreciate any advice you can give.

Chris Paul
