I enjoy riding my bike and would like to find a easy / good way to transport it. Any recommendations on bike racks for Reflection 303? Any thoughts on ladder bike rack mounts? Has anyone mounted a bike to the bummer / sewer pipe tube?

Hi Angela

I have heard a lot of stories about the ladder coming loose with use of a bike rack. (Not on GDRV models though.)

If I remember correctly, GDRV says the max weight using the bumper is 100 lbs and the max weight using the frame mounted tow bar they switched to for the 2015 models (no bumper) is 300 lbs.
There are several previous threads on bicycle racks. You can find those using the search function. Most of those threads included advice from GDRV customer service at some point.

I had a bolt-on 2" receiver (from etrailer.com) from our previous TT which I moved over to the 337, mounted to the square rear bumper/hose carrier. Got the 2-bike rack from Amazon.

So far, so good. A bit of jiggling due to "slop" where the mount inserts into the receiver, but no problems.

Thanks for the information both! I will do a search to see other threads regarding bike racks. Have a good one!

We have the bolt on 2" receiver also (tube bumper). Came with the Swagman 2 bike rack, which has bolts to eliminate the wiggle, works awesome. With two heavy beach cruiser bikes on there I know I'm a little over the hundred pound limit, very nervous, but so far no issues (11 months). Have a friend that is supposed to beef up my rear bumper, sometime...hopefully before it's too late.

We have a swagman 2 bike carrier but we had to add a receiver extension so the handlebar would clear the back of the RV. We do not have a tube type bumper on ours.

Do you have one of the newer builds that doesn't have a rear bumper...I recall seeing that the end of the receiver hardly extended past the rear wall.

Northern Tool sells a hitch specifically designed to go on a RV 4" square bumper. See: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200612508_200612508

Most sporting goods stores and all bicycle shops sell bicycle racks that fit on receiver hitches. You can also buy them at Amazon.com.

My daughter is a bicycle racer, and we've driven 1000's of miles with bike racks on our vehicles. We often throw her bikes inside the car's back seat. They'll also fit inside the door of a fifth wheel trailer if security's an issue.

Anyone have a picture of the new receiver and the way it is mounted on the new Reflections?

Sure looks beefy for no more weight than it'll ever see. But it takes away any bit of protection on the rear end. I've been known to lightly back into small items--like trees and small walls--when getting into a campsite.

I think I need a better spotter than my wife.

You could easily have a simple tube bumper fabricated that would actually mount in the receiver and give you back your bumper.

Last week, I forgot to drop my tailgate while pulling out from under my fifth wheel. (I hope I'm not the only one to do such a dumb trick.)

My wife calmly said, "You might want to stop." She should have yelled "STOPPPPPPP!!!!!!".

I bowed my tailgate about 3". Since I'm changing insurance companies anyway, I am making a claim for an OEM painted tailgate.

Women!

Bananaman, no offense, but it sounds like you might want to let the wife do the driving and you do the spotting. Lol :) or would that be worse...:)
