My 5th wheel made a loud pop and shook the rv now i smell sewer what happened? Nothing came out the vent or on the ground.

MIght be worth a looksy above the coroplast. Maybe one on the tank brackets gave way?
Have you tried dumping the tanks?
We get pumped biweekly, by a septic service company. Was pumped a week ago. It's just the two of us , full time living to take care of our elderly parents.

If its leaked since being dumped..... would take a peek. If anything, just for piece of mind.

If you decide to do it, theres a few threads on this site that can give you some hints on how to do it as a one man project (ie. a jack as a dead man while you unscrew/screw the edges up). Hope you get it figured out.

Happy Trails!

Local septic company cannot come out until Tuesday,,,going to be a long weekend 🙄

We are sitting at an FRVA (FMCA) Rally in Perry GA. The is a company that pumps tanks here, but 1 of the stipulations is that the toilet flush valve be open when they pump so they don’t collapse the tank. Could that have happened to the OP ??

I did not have our tanks flushed for that reason.

Have you had venting issues at all? Does the toilet ever "burp" when you go to flush?

I’d suspect the weight of an overfilled tank broke a support strap allowing the tank to drop enough to upset the vent pipe seal on top of the tank.

Which model 5th wheel do you have, Michael? If you heard a loud pop and are now smelling sewer, I would start by dropping the coroplast and taking a good look with a flashlight. The tank support(s) could have failing causing the tank to drop enough for the pipes to pull out at the top of the tank.

I had similar problem with my fresh tank. I thought we had an earthquake!

Even a small peak into the underbelly, with a flashlight, can tell you a lot!

We had a similar issue in our 2018 384GK. We were in the camper and heard a loud boom and everything shook. Saw water leaking through a pinhole in the chloroplast within a few minutes. We thought the black tank had fallen out, but long story short, it was the kitchen gray tank. The lips on the top of the tank had somehow slipped off the frame supports, and the metal bars underneath didn't keep it in place. It fell down about 2 inches, which was enough to separate it from the drain pipe coming from the sink. We had been stationary for over a week, and the tank may have been full or nearly so, but that still shouldn't happen. Dealer re-installed the tank and reinforced the retaining bars and added some new ones. I drain the gray tank more frequently now but no problem since. Just FYI - that gray tank water stinks almost as bad as the black tank. It smelled so bad I was convinced it must be the black tank, but it was indeed the gray.
