Does anyone know if the brakes are self adjustable? I see a parts list but it tells you to go to Lippert and they have a lot of options on the 7000K axles.

I haven't looked at mine and won't be home until jan however in my experience
All of my previous brakes on fifth wheels have been self adjusting
And you can adjust the gain on your controller if they feel weak

This is a question which should be addressed to your dealer. A review of the features for Solitudes does not mention "self-adjusting brakes."

You also should check your Owner's Manual. My manual of our Reflection states "When your RV is new, it is impossible to adjust the brake shoes precisely. After the initial break-in period, your brake shoes must be adjusted accurately..."

This was also true of my last RV, an Open Range.

A new brake lining will not be arched the same as the brake drum. This is what prevents you from getting a proper adjustment. Only from driving and the shoes only touching at the top and the bottom will they then wear in to the diameter of the drum. Once this happens you will then be able to get a proper adjustment.

Hi Janice,
Is there a serial number that after which are self adjusting? A range of serial numbers?
Thanks!
Ct..

I had to replace all four of my brakes and hubs said it was my brake release that controls the brakes when the trailer breaks lose or the trailer gain set to high, will I now have new brakes and hubs and guess what it was a short in the trailer wires going to the truck, I told my wife I broke our rule never buy any new product wait a year for them to get the bugs out, had a Carriage Cameo pulled it 30,000 plus miles with out brake problems. I still love my GD but if one more thing goes that cost over a 1000.00 and am total Lippert will not cover it the GD is gone. On a litter note GD has went the extra mile on other things that have gone wrong. I replaced with Dexter hubs and adjustable brakes made in the USA. :'(

Sorry to see this post! Picking my solitude up tomorrow. Did you ever get any help with this and did repair insurance help cover this?
