Hello,

Yes, I know, this is an issue that not many people would worry about.

Our Influence 3704BH has three A/C units. We took possession on June 12 and headed to a near by CG for our shakedown tour. When the main or bedroom units were on (not both as we were on 30A shore power) and set at 74 degrees, the bunk house went to 66 degrees. We went straight to the dealership after leaving the CG on June 22.

The dealership still has the rig and are working with Grand Design AND RV AirFlow to determine why the temps are so different - the main unit has the heat pump and RV AirFlow System.

The thermostat temps were verified with a weather station monitor to ensure the thermostats were calibrated properly.

We closed off as many of the ceiling vents as we could in the bunk house and directed the air from them so it would flow into the main area from the bunk house - no effect. Bunk house stayed at 66. So either the bunk house is like a meat locker, or the master bedroom is too warm.

We’ll see what they come up with at the dealership, but my impression is that the duct work in the attic has a blockage or installation error - the Stealth air racetrack ducting is not working as designed?!?

Regards,
Allan

I had the opposite problem. The bunk house ac ran constantly because the bunk house wasn’t getting much air therefore the bedroom and living were getting too cold. I just keep the bunkhouse ac off unless it’s extremely hot outdoors.

So you might try multiple combinations of running only 2 at a time to see which combo works best

We are usually on 30 amp, so are only able to run one AC. When we’ve been on 50 amp, we have tried different combinations of two of the three ACs.

You are correct that the bunk house does get colder than the rest of the rig when only its AC is on.

Hence my comment “the Stealth air racetrack ducting is not working as designed?!?”

I'm surprised you can only run one AC on 30A. I only have 30A at my house and I can run 2 ACs with no problem.

Hmm, by chance do you have soft start installed on your ACs?
It kicks out the shore power breaker if two start up at the same time.
While the timing is rare, it has happened a couple of times when we have two ACs turned on when plugged in to 30 amps. (More often, if the outdoor kitchen frig is on!)

I have no idea whether mine has softstart. I bought the unit pre-owned. I don't have the outdoor fridge.
