Got the CampChef Artisan Outdoor Oven for my Explorer 2 burner system. Made a few pizzas for lunch today while camping at a local state park. Used a King Arthur Artisan Pizza Dough recipe since it's almost fool proof. Here are the results.

Was very pleased with the results especially for first attempt with the oven. Makes a great addition to the camping arsenal.

That sure does look tasty. When we got our CampChef it came with a brochure of accessories which that pizza oven caught my eye. I wondered how it would perform. Now I know. Thanks

It did a great job and you can easily get 600° + but it does blow through some propane.

I was just wondering what you've been cooking lately ! That looks great, wonder if it could be used on a 3 burner. We have one we leave on our spot in FL. Gary would kill me if I found another cooking mode to tote aroud.

You can use it on a 3 burner (covering 2 of the burners). They actually have pictures showing that.

I bought the PZ60 which is for their 14" grills. The PZ90 is for their 16" grills.

Let Gary know this doesn't count as another grill since it's just an accessory to make a grill you already have more versatile - LOL

The crust looks superb! I use a big green egg at home. I’m going to look up the dough recipe
and try that out.

I have 2 Komodo Kamado's and Primo Oval Jr at home, and have made lots of pizza on them. Check out this link. I did a picture tutorial of this dough recipe on a kamado forum (Kamado Guru). It's a really easy recipe to deal with you just have to start the dough the day before.

We have pizzaatcamp as well, but I use our Traeger smoker. Smoked pizza with homemade crust and loaded with toppings... fabulous. Your pizza is looking good too.

Camping pizza is fun. I was definitely getting some strange looks as I was pulling pizza out of the oven with a pizza peel - LOL

I imagine the Traegar pizza is fantastic. I've been doing pizza on Kamado grills for a few years now.

I was proud of myself for the Chicago style in the Dutch oven we’ve been tinkering with. Now you had to tell me about another option! I’m afraid I’ll need a toyhauler to carry cooking equipment one of these days.

Funny you said that about the toy hauler. I mentioned something along those lines the other day. Mrs skreef didn't find it as amusing as I did.

You see I have about 10 grills at home so I am currently banned from buying any more grills. Since this Artisan Outdoor Oven is just an accessory for a grill I already had, it didn't count - LOL

I bet she counts it! ;)

How does that saying go, it's easier to beg for forgiveness then ask for permission. Lol plus the end goal is good food.

I somewhat live by that motto. And you are right about the end goal. After we finished eating pizza on the picnic table at the campsite she told me what a great idea it was getting the Outdoor Pizza Oven. Win, Win.

Kind of sounds like my wife. At first, it was “That smoker is expensive”. But now she brings home brisket and ribs for me to cook, so I don’t think it seems so bad now. Same with the Blackstone. I’m afraid to try new recipes because I’ll end up cooking every night!

Nice work! We've got a similar oven. One caution - that pizza stone is fragile. We carefully stowed the oven in it's normal position on the floor of the kitchen table slide out but the vibrations during travel still cracked the stone. Got a replacement stone and now we gently shove a bunch of bubble wrap inside the oven before stowing it. Has worked for two outings so far.
