We converted our TH garage into a bedroom/office. During travel days, in order to fully stow both platforms we have to remove the mattress from the platform and put it on the floor.
The challenge is that the mattress now takes up half of our floor that we would prefer to use to store other items during travel days (like bikes).
If we DONT remove the mattress, we can still stow the platforms, just a few inches from the fully up position. Is there any functional/structural concerns if we did this? Not sure why GD recommends the fully stowed position during travel days.
