We purchased a new 311BHS, installed Compass Connect on an Android device, and the app does not find our unit whether using scan with camera or search for devices. Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on my phone, and I even saw other units on the search for devices page while at a campground. I tried the battery disconnect switch but it didn't seem to power down the OneControl system. I also tried a hard reset on the touch screen panel. Is the connection over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi? Where is the unit located? Any other troubleshooting ideas? I'll give my dealer a call on Monday but thought I'd start here in case others have had this issue.

Have you tried it with the One Control app, not the Compass Connect?

There should be a Connect button on the controller. Then do a search for it again without the app, just the phone BT search. It is BT.

Got a pic of the controller?

Thanks for the ideas. I tried the One Control app as well to no avail. I don't have a pic of the controller handy, but it's a Unity (I don't recall the specific model) located right behind the wall in the front storage area. I found a thread on the Facebook group that suggests disconnecting the power and ground wires to force a reboot. I'm going to try that soon and will report back if it takes care of it.

The board is a Unity X1.5. I disconnected power and ground wires for 10+ minutes, reconnected, and still cannot connect using either app.

And there is no ‘Bluetooth’ connect button on the control panel? Has the Bluetooth logo.

We have the LCI OneControl pictured installed on our 2022 378MBS.

On delivery, I was able to use the BT functionality to connect to my iPhone, then it stopped working. I have tried every fix I can find on the inter webs to fix to no avail. I do not see the OneControl on my iPhone bluetooth devices but, when I use the "+" on the Compass Connect app, the code appears and it tries to connect. I have done this several times in both Compass Connect and the OneControl app, won't connect. According to the diagnostics screen, I am running version 4.XXXXXX, is there an update? There is no bluetooth connect button on the OneControl panel, on the side, or behind it. I have unplugged everything and tried to hard reboot, no good. Any help would be most appreciated.

This is the information I received from LCI for those interested and have the same LCI OneControl that I have, the one without a "pairing" function on the panel.

"Good Morning Tod,

Thank you for contacting Lippert with your request. Your bluetooth signal is broadcast by a chip on your Unity Board (the main computer brain that everything is wired into) so in order to reset the signal we need to powercycle that board. This can be done by either completely removing all power from the entire coach (disconnect from shore/outlet, solar, and disconnect your coach's negative battery terminal for a few minutes) or by removing power from the Unity Board itself directly, by disconnecting the ground wire. Unfortunately we are not privy to where the Unity Board has been installed in your coach by the manufacturer and you would need to reach out to them to locate it.

The touchscreen has no interaction with the bluetooth, so it won't be of any assistance in this matter.

If we can assist further, I would suggest calling in to our OneControl Tech Support Team to troubleshoot over the phone: 432-LIPPERT (432-547-7378) available M-F 8a-7p and Sat 9a-5:30p EST"

I was having trouble on my 2021 Reflection and tried using the QR code and also looking for the trailer but it would only come up once in awhile but did nothing. I finally did the manual entry using the id which started with LCI and entered the whole id making sure to use caps or non caps. I used the numeric code as the password and it came up and learned. Hope this helps.

Did you ever figure this out? I’m having the same problem with my 21 311BHS. My Onecontrol stopped connecting to my compass and onecontrol app. I tried manually entering the info and removing all power via battery/shore disconnect ~ still nothing. My Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on.In the app I can see other RVs but not mine. I want to disconnect the controller but can’t find it. Where is yours located? I checked in cabinet behind panel and under coffee bar but no connect box.

Did you have any success? Ours is not working either.

Nope, I tried disconnecting all power including battery to reboot the system but still could not connect. Followed all the instructions in the app but nothing worked. I can see nearby rigs but not mine.

I'm trying to locate the module and will contact Grand Design.

I am now having the same problem Bluetooth issue. It appears to me that the Bluetooth Daughter Board XT Assembly has failed. The board is not transmitting and in the programming side of the software just has a question mark.

Anyone resolve this?

Thanks,

David

I may have found a solution, more like a workaround. After following tech support process of disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes, which didn’t solve it, I removed power from Unity X1.5 board ( + and - ) for 10 minutes, that didn’t solve it either.
While on the phone again with tech, he asked if the device, LCIRemote……
Showed up on the list of devices on the Bluetooth settings screen( iOS ),
It did not nor did it ever , even last year when it worked fine. But, when I went back to the OneControl app, it opened up automatically. I was previously able to connect, but manually, typing in the id and password and then all the trailer data including vin. It was a real pain!
It worked for me,
1) open the app
2j go to the settings page on device, open “bluetooth” page.
3) go back to app, it opens for me.

It’s probably a sign that the bluetooth chip on the Unity board is starting to fail.after 40 years as an industrial electrician/instrument tech, I’ve learned that changing boards does not always solve the problem. So, if I’m paying for the board, it BETTER solve the problem. There is a one year warranty, not going there, yet!

Update: Unity X1.5 Bluetooth Daughter Board Failure

I spoke with Grand Design and they shipped me out a replacement Lippert Unity X1.5. The Grand Design folks came through for me on this problem. They certainly didn't have to cover the part. In fact, Lippert said it was out of warranty, but Grand Design helped out! Big thanks to Grand Design today!
